Introduced in the year 480 of the Lupventr Federal Space calendar, the FMR-08 Coil Service Rifle became the standard weapon of the Lupventr Citizen Trooper. Available in two configurations—a full-length rifle and a carbine variant designated the FMR-08 N2—the weapon was selected over the LSS-RM-12 due to its superior kinetic power.
The rifle fires 7mm sabot rounds, designed for extreme penetration at hypersonic speeds. It achieves a muzzle velocity of 2,150 meters per second. However, the sabot's velocity can be adjusted thanks to the weapon's high modularity, allowing Lupventr Troopers to fire faster or slower as mission requirements dictate.
The weapon features semi-automatic and three-round burst modes. Some variants include a full-auto version, but the standard service configuration is limited to semi and burst.
Its kinetic power is achieved through a series of powerful coils housed beneath a protective casing, which also contains an integrated cooling system. This design makes the weapon front-heavy, but the Lupventr compensate by adding a comfortable front handguard and a heat expulsion tube underneath the barrel, ensuring the trooper's hands never get burned.
