Side Project #2: Ring Rabbit — Description

Been doing some thinking lately and I've decided to can some of my concepts, including Ring Rabbit which was actually a long time coming. So I'm in the middle of privating character bios because...god damn, some of y'all cannot act normal to save your lives.

Let me put it this way. Going into RR, I knew that I'd attract some...'odd ducks' if you will. Over the course of it's creation I had to really hammer home that RR isn't some kind of combat fetish comic just because the cast was all-female. But despite my best efforts to do so, it got so bad to the point that I Didn't Want To Work On Ring Rabbit Anymore Because I'd Get Really Uncomfortable Questions About My Characters That Made Me Sick.

Nothing sucks more than feeling scared to show off something you loved working on and being backed into a corner because some fuckers can't read the fucking room sucks so much shit, dude.

But for those who know where to look, the character bios are still up and readable. Otherwise, sorry to those who thought they'd get anymore RR based content out of me. I hate to do this, but it had to be done.

Yep. I'm digging my own hole EVEN DEEPER by making yet another OC story with characters originally made the Fighter's-Verse as an extra bast, but FUCK IT. GOTTA LIVE AND DO THINGS VICARIOUSLY MY FRIENDS.

You remember Carlie and Maelee? Probably not since I don't do much with my OCs, but this is their story.

Thus introducing: Ring Rabbit.

25 Year Old Carlie Witherstone has come to a dead end in her life.

A college graduate with no real goals or ambitions post graduation and an amateur Kickboxer stuck as a Undercard fighter for a no-name promotion, she lives in a limbo state, working with her Legal Guardian/Aunt in her New York diner.

Bored and desperate to inject new blood into her life, Carlie takes a chance and sets out to find her childhood idol, former women's kickboxer by the name of Vivian LaChance , who came and went as fast as she appeared on the scene.

Her investigation leads her to Orlando, Florida and the posh 'Rabbit's Hole' nightclub, where she finds LaChance running the joint under the personae of 'Madame LaPine'.

Seeing through LaChance's disguise, she begs for the former could've-been pro to teach her the ways of Kickboxing with the ultimate dream: To become the next Women's MMA star.

Reluctant at first, LaChance decides to take Carlie under her wing, seeing the same spark that she had long ago. What follows is Carlie's journey, following her training underneath LaChance, making friends and rivals along the way, all leading up to the The D1 Open Grand Prix: The Ultimate Amateur Open Contest.

Stylistically, Ring Rabbit lands somewhere in-between Hajime No Ippo and Kengan Asura. It's grounded in 95% in reality with the other 5% squarely in the ballpark of artistic liberties/over-the-top bullshit, namely in how MMA works in this world and the Dynamite league.

However I can guarantee you're not gonna get stuff like Clowns blasting each other with fists of energies, or Teenagers fighting in Malls. This might just be as grounded as I get.

And to kick things off, I already have Carlie and Vivian (yeah, Maelee doesn't have a great ring to me) done, but I'll be updating their designs tomorrow, along with proper bios now that they're part of a story proper.

Also I'm doing this as a way to pump out more female OCs because my roster is by and large a sausage party. Look forward to whatever content I put out for this!
