Ruby + Storytime ^^ — Description

A while back, a little bird hopped over to me. To my surprise, he didn't fly away when I asked, "Well, hello there; what are you doing here?" (Not gonna lie, I felt like a little princess. ^^)
On the contrary, he hopped onto my hand and wouldn't leave my side. It turned out to be a young barn swallow with a broken wing; apparently caused by a cat.

I looked up how I could help him, and as luck would have it, there was a wild bird rescue center nearby. While I was waiting for an appointment, he posed on my shoulder, next to my dog. Most surreal experience ever!
I dropped him off there; the vet gave him antibiotics but didn't hold out much hope for his recovery.

I didn't dare ask for an update the next day, because that way, in my own little world, he can fly again. It’s basically like Schrödinger's cat: he is simultaneously dead and alive, as long as I don't observe. 🤷‍♀️
And since I’m a very positive person, Ruby is back with his bird family. ^^
