Description Finally finished. If you're wondering why the main image is blank, it's going to be used as the model for my contest (see journal for further information). Dove will be my permanent fursona, and she is associated with a side story of the Nightmare Before Christmas.

Dove Nox
Gender Female
Age Immortal, appears to be nearly 16
Height 5'7''
Appearance Hair Glossy black, collarbone length bangs, jawline length hair
Eyes Pale, icy blue
Skin Dark blue leather hide; gargoyle attributes: crown of four horns behind bangs, funnel pointed ears, horned knees, elbows, fingers, feet, and single-clawed bat-like leather wings
Likes Flying, scaring, stone statues, gardens, Halloween Town, the entire Skellington family, Lock and Barrell
Dislikes Shock, Oogie, Bloody Mary (the haunt), dark cold water (she tends to sink), small spaces
Hobbies Flying, scaring, exploring, poetry, telling stories
Behavior A fairly outgoing character, she's a far better listener than talker, and can be described as deep and quiet. Because of her long years in solitude (explained in her history), she is able to relate with many creatures on several matters. The one thing she cannot stand is the narcissist characteristic that Shock carries. Her age provides her with some wisdom and swift thinking, though she has the mind of a 16-year-old in many ways. She has an excellent knack for guessing what creatures are thinking or feeling. She tries to be thoughtful, and enjoys giving simply to see an expression of happiness come from another. Despite her knowledge, she is very poor at self-healing, causing a wound to take weeks at a time to heal. She is fascinated by the inventions that both Jack and Jonathan Skellington create within their laboraties, and will slip in occasionally to watch, and aid if asked. She prefers observing Jonathan over Jack though, admiring him for his determination. She is always willing to learn or try something new, despite the risks.
Quote "Only time can tell."
Best Seen Either flying, or thinking beside the river she was first discovered upon in Halloween Town
Best Friend Though she tries to stay open to everyone she likes and cares for, she prefers Emily for her unashamed darkness and enjoys her quiet company, and would count her as one of her closer friends
Curse of the Gargoyle When touched by sunlight, a thick hide of stone encompasses her being until she is removed from the light; commonly from sunrise to sunset

History
During the rule of King Henry VIII, the gargoyles of England were sworn to protect the race of humans. Dove Nox was born into the peak of guild heirachy, the Scorr Clan. The members of this particular guild protected the royal family directly, acting as friends, mentors and guardians. Dove Nox was given this task upon the little princess Mary Tudor, better known as 'Bloody Mary'. As simple as the assignment may have sounded, Mary was difficult to please and would often scorn Dove when having a temper tantrum. Despite her attempts to befriend the young girl, every try was futile. Upon the crowning of Queen Mary, the gargoyles were immediately separated from equals to animals, and were dubbed a covetted game for hunt. A number of gargoyles were killed as soon as the decree reached the towns, the Scorr Clan being the first to fall. Because Mary hated Dove so, she was sentenced to an eternity locked within one of the prisoner vaults at the heart of the torture chambers. For countless years Dove lay suspended by shackles upon a cold, stone wall, awaiting the day when her torment would come to an end. Suddenly, in a blur, she was free. The people who dwelled in England today had taken to the streets with fire and weapons, and it was during this chaos that a lone wiccan had been able to slip into the forgotten cells and free Dove, knowing her whereabouts from an old legend. Dove escaped into the night, though not before being spotted by the citizens. Immediately assuming that she was a demon, they pursued her, waving their torches and triggering an assortment of firearms. The chase did not last long, for Dove was unused to running, and found herself cornered in a cemetery, a large angel statue to her back as the humans charged forth. The surrounded her, and opened fire. It was then that the wooden planks beneath her feet broke, and she fell into a dark, dank passageway, tumbling down a flight of stairs to strike the ground sharply. Cries of anger and rage sounded from above her as she stumbled forward, desperate to escape as the people followed behind her. Blindly fumbling along the passage, she suddenly broke through a door, finding herself facing a sheer cliff. Chancing a glance back, the humans were nearly upon her when she leapt into space, unfurling her sore wings. A board of fire-choaked wood smacked her right across the eyes as bullets shot straight through her wings with a sharp sting of a needles. She fell, plummeting straight from the sky like a finished bird. Her descent was broken when she crashed through the icy waters of the deep river that wound below the cliff, immediately washing her beneath the rough waves of black.. Waves of darkness.. Waves of exhaustion.. Waves of final sleep..
