I am deeply in love with this. her figure is lovely, highlighted and moving in and out of shadow. such elegance and starkness/rawness (coming up with a word that describes this is difficult).

I think this picture looks amazing!!! As for the model, they are not to thin, they are reaching up which exposes the rip cage! As for low lighting, I think it just add more to the picture and gives it more charactor!!!

the lighting is perfect - the high contrasts give a jet black bg

it feels akward looking at her, the lighting makes her look too thin because the light source is too little.
to acheive softer shadows, may i suggest you bounce your flash off a wall or use a softbox/umbrella.
