After making "Crosses 2", I began a bit of a journey trying out different forms for scroll work. Two months went by of making random patterns until something finally clicked. A few weeks later, I had a folder full of mandala-like snowflake patterns, and was able to assemble a new book.

I learned a great deal during this project about using Illustrator. Up until Snowflakes, I used an older CAD program to make my patterns, then convert them in Illustrator, and finished work using Photoshop. This time, all images were made using Illustrator and I skipped CAD completely. A lot of trial and error, a bit of frustration, but in the end things worked out. Several of the finished patterns were used to make "Snowflake or Mandala?" :thumb616790403: , which was in turn used for the cover.
