Cold Infil II — Description

2010
The Spetsnaz infiltration team discovers the Borealis.
After successfully breaching multiple Combine perimeters, the Spetsnaz operators discovered the Borealis tucked away inside an ice cavern, guarded by heavy machinery and transhuman patrols. Despite all that they had gone through, the two would recall being deeply unsettled at the sight.
Throughout the 1990s the GRU had monitored Aperture Science, particularly their teleportation division. Although they knew what the Borealis could be capable of on paper, they had every reason to believe it was simply a joke among engineers, something that could never feasibly exist. To see it here meant the Combine had their hands on a potential superweapon.
The infiltration team scrambled back to their rendezvous with the Japanese RHIB, making best speed for the mainland.
