in the 90s Zordon is forced to create a new team when a couple Astronauts end up opening a containment cell holding Rita captive.off in space Lord Zedd is working his way toward the center of the milky way to conquer Eltar when he is contacted by Rita letting him know she is free and in the process of taking an Eltarian outpost (earth) that one of their high elders is living on. Zedd would change the direction of his advance heading toward Earth as well, (encountering the "Super Sonic Rangers" along the way and destroying them on some insignificant mining asteroid.)
