Hex is a powerful sorcerer, who can cast powerful spell and mana attacks with few difficulties, despite his very advanced age who have been extended by dark mana utilisation. The dark mana is the darker side of the mana who rely on strong negative emotions like hate. This use is forbidden by the ethereal division but the humans and earth in general don't have strong relation to mana so it didn't goes to their attention
Hex was a former member of the arcane brotherhood, a community of human manamancers. Until they were almost all exterminated by the forever knight. Hex want his revanche against them, even sending Charmcaster, his niece infiltrate their organization. Hex truly love Charmcaster like she was a daughter, the reciprocity of this relationship is however vague. She mostly saw her uncle as a pathway to power, even though she still like him
Hex always wanted the manamancers to conquer and lead humanity because he considered them the prime of the specie, which didn't go with the brotherhood's code especially with his brother, but the 2 of them always care for each other, his dream was destroyed when the forever knight discovered and destroyed their temples, leaving only a few of them in exile.
Hex didn't believe into aliens until he fight with Ben, and lost to him. Pissed off, he want to eliminate this menace, even going teaming with the forever knight and other enemies of ben
