Description
...finished. Hugh Laurie in case you did not notice
Cannot exactly remember when did I start it, probably more than 6 months ago. Did not need as much time as the first portrait of him though...
Well, I'm not satisfied with it either. Not at all. I had a much more detailed drawing in mind when I started it. My first portrait of him was made almost 2 years ago, and I thought I would see some improvement between the two. Yet I don't, and it frustrates the hell out of me that I somehow know I could do better, yet cannot. Not saying it turned out that bad, just thought it would come out way better. This must be the result of doing something when you do not really feel like doing it I suppose...
Anyways, thank You again for your constant support - despite my inactivity and laziness
Though starting tomorrow I'm working for 3 weeks, so barely will have time for dA again (summer part-time job, as I mentioned not so long ago...) But will try my best to catch up with You Now the "keep tracking myself" part:
Size: A4
Time: 25-30 hours or so
Tools used:
Paper: 80g
Pencils: 4H, HB2, HB, 9B, 2B mechanical pencil
Tissues, Q-tips. Nah, no eraser.
Enjoy

Yay Hugh!
Wow, I absolutely love it!
It's amazing, you did such a great job; the eyes, the wrinkles, the beard, every little detail is done so well that the drawing looks so alive. I love how you've captured his personality on paper, it's absolutely no doubt about who this is!
This must be my favourite piece of work I've seen on here so far, I love it!

Well I can't really say how much better it can look, I'll trust that judgment to you, but it does look very much like him and the shadings are great, especially the parts around the eyes and the beard/mustache. Great work.
I've rarely seen such a good, credible character on a TV series.

p.s. any lack of wrinkles, skin imperfections and marks definitely make him look younger and it's something Laurie himself would appreciate.

The facial hair and eyebrows are done so well! Of course everything else is, but I find small hairs are more difficult to get down so realistically.
