I'm the bad artThat hung on your wall

Bought into the hype
Before it ever bubbled up to the surface
We watched faces in shop windows above
The Picadilly line
Couples with matching scarves would say
That when Rome fell, we fell with it
We fell with it that day
They're the type of love that
Lives in technicolor
They live in maybes,
Make babies, and
Sculpt better doorframes for
The rest of us to walk under
And we, we were the ones
Who's lungs felt cheated
Under pressure, heat and steam
But we placed our feet in front of each other
And walked cobblestone bridges in dreams
You tried to rhyme in a song once
And I begged for you to stop
But it was beautiful anyway, I just
Forgot to let you know
Goes to show
Out of love, we still hold pretty fine

i like the rhymes, how they grab my eye and make me sit up straight, pay attention. i feel like i could read this fourteen times and still find something new.
that's what it is, too, your description - seeing if something bad can be good. it is, it's great, but i don't why.
