Description Ruby  Kelly stormed off to complain in a huff.
"No-one likes me! I have no friends!"
She didn't realize a lonely little kid was watching her from a lone bench.
Ely  The boy looked sympathetically at Kelly. He knew exactly what she was going through, but he didn't have the courage to tell her so. He was rather shy around strangers, and to him, Kelly was a stranger.
Well, the boy thought, she only wants a friend. Maybe I could... be her friend.
With some bravery and sympathy urging him forward, the boy went to Kelly. He hesitantly took one step after another, but he made it to her, nonetheless. Nervously, the boy stuttered, "H-Hallo..." His accent was strange, and the boy knew it. Great, he thought, she probably thinks I'm a freak now.
Ruby  She glanced at the speaker but kept her eyes on him for a few moments.
"Hello. You bored and lonely too?"
She supposed he wasn't, but maybe he was. Why disbelieve him so soon?
Ely  Shocked, the boy stared at Kelly for a moment. She doesn't think I'm a freak? the boy thought, still somewhat dazed by the concept.
After he'd regained himself, the boy nodded. "Yeah." His voice was surprisingly soft; it was hard to hear him. "There aren't many people who like to talk to me, or even WANT to talk to me." His gaze drifted to the background, away from Kelly. "I guess I'm just too awesome for socialization." The boy quietly laughed, more to himself than her.
Ruby  Kelly watched him.
"Do you have an awesome name, too?" She smirked, trying to give him assurance that she wasn't thinking oddly of him.
Ely  The boy smiled. "Yes," he replied. "My name's Ely. Ely Leuchovius Leslie."
Ruby  Kelly nodded slowly.
"I'll... just call you Ely, if that's alright... That's a very unique name..."
She couldn't help smiling. She liked unique names.
Ely  The boy smiled as well. I can't believe it! Ely thought. She's actually listening to me.
Something began to churn in Ely's stomach. It felt weird... sort of... warm.
Suddenly, everything began to spin. At least, it did to him. Ely's heart pounded loudly; something was wrong. Pain. There was intense pain in his heart, like someone had just ripped off a bandage.
Suddenly, behind Kelly, there was a dark figure. It looked around Ely's height. It had unrealistically messy and spikey hair, and his eyes were yellow, somewhat cat like. His skin was black as the night sky, and he wore a red shirt.
Ely grew terrified. He spoke with a shaky voice. "You..." He shook his head. He had to warn Kelly. "K-Kelly! Behind you!"
Ruby  Kelly's smile faded and her eyes widened. She started to turn her head to see what had scared her new acquaintance so.
"What is it...?"
Ely  Kelly saw the dark figure. He laughed, "'It'? Please, I have a name too, you know!" He opened up his arms in a mocking position. "My name's Tsaul. I believe you seem to be giving my host some... undeserved power, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to take the source of his power... or..." Tsaul licked his lips, "I could just consume the both of you as a whole!"
Suddenly, Ely spoke up. "You can't be Tsaul!" he shouted, "Tsaul died a long time ago!"
Tsaul paused for a moment. He was surprised by Ely's courage. A smirk grew across his face, and he laughed. "You know what they say about sin: It persists!"
Ruby  Kelly blinked, confused, facing Tsaul.
"Uh... I... Host?"
She looked back to Ely.
"What does he mean?"
And what did he mean by sin persists? It was obvious they knew each other but how was it connected...?
Ely  Tsaul laughed insanely. "Honestly, how stupid can you be...?" Tsaul calmed himself. "Fine, I'll give you an explanation." Tsaul looked up at the sky. "You see, I came into existence when Ely here did something incredibly stupid. However, I've made a promise that I'd never tell what it was he did wrong." He cleared his throat. "Anyways, after he did something stupid, he liked it. He liked the feeling of it, and each time he did it, my strength grew and grew."
Ely piped up, "...Well... after I'd watched this episode of, 'I survived: Beyond and Back,' I knew that I had to stop. Otherwise I'd go to hell. That was when I started making a valiant effort to stop... but..."
Tsual laughed, "He never could. It nearly drove him mad, the guilt did. Of course, his guilt AND the fact that what he did was wrong was more than enough to feed me... but..."
"But I got connected with God." Ely finished. "God helped me greatly! He made sure I was safe, and I even read the whole bible."
Tsaul sighed, "Unfortunately, he did." A maddeningly wide grin spread across his face, "But even God's protection wasn't enough to stop me!" His grin faded. "However, something was enough to greatly injure me: An exorcism."
Ely smiled, "Once I did that, he was gone for a long, long time... but he came back," Ely looked down before he added, "... AGAIN!"
Tsaul chuckled, "It's true."
Ruby  Kelly looked between the two.
"So... we just need to seal him away again...?"
Ely  Ely shakily responded. "Um, I guess. However the only way to do that is-"
"Silence!" Tsaul shouted. "I'll be sure to take both of you out personally!" Tsaul charged toward his nearest target, Kelly. He swung his fist directly toward her face.
Ruby  Kelly yelped and instinctively threw her arms up in front of her.
Ely  Although the sound of the punch was heard, she did not feel it.
Ely had somehow managed to get there in time to block the punch. He glared at Tsaul, who only smiled in return.
"Well," Tsaul chuckled, "I never thought you'd get the courage to move. You're so much braver than before... However..." Tsaul kicked Ely in the chest, sending him crashing towards Kelly's direction.
Ruby  Kelly peeked between her arms in time to see Ely and catch him.
"You OK?"
She looked, almost glaring at Tsaul.
"You leave him alone!"
Ely   Tsaul tilted his head to the side. "Leave him alone?" He asked, almost tauntingly. "Why on earth would I leave my host alone? All he is is just a coward. A stupid, worthless, anti-social coward."
Ely looked down, moaning with hurt feelings. Tsaul only laughed. "Look at him. He can't stand on his own two feet for more than two seconds before he runs screaming, 'Mommy! Come save me!' Hah!"
"Sh-Shut up." Ely said quietly, tears forming in his eyes. "None of that's true!"
"Aw," Tsaul said, this time obviously tauntingly, "did I hurt the little baby's feelings? You gonna cry?"
Ruby  Kelly glared harder and wrapped her arms around Ely protectively.
"I said, leave him alone! He doesn't need you! No-one needs beings like you who use them to get what they want... We're not the cowards, we just don't often get the chance to learn how to reject things like you...."
Ely  Tsaul paused for a moment. "Use you to get what I want?" He repeated. "...You're right. I DO use people to get what I want. I know that I'm doomed to hell..." Tsaul closed his eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath. "My goal..." He opened his eyes clenched his fists, "is to take the lot of you with me!" He charged towards Kelly and Ely once more, this time he looked serious.
Ruby  Kelly tightened her arms around Ely as she glared harder as Tsaul, trying not to let basic human fear take over.
"God help us!"
Ely  Suddenly, Tsaul froze. His eyes were cold, a bit too cold. He glared at Kelly for saying such wretched words. Instantly, he clenched his head with both of his hands. He roared with agony, flailing his fists at whatever he thought caused his pain. He began to float in the air, twitching unnaturally, screaming bloody hell.
His shirt ripped off to reveal a massive eye on his chest, which appeared to be crying blood. Tsaul only roared louder when light began to burst from the eye, and seemed to crack his skin. His skin kept cracking and cracking, and with each, agonizing crack, his monstrous roars only grew louder. All at once, there was a massive explosion of light, leaving nothing to remain.
Ruby  Kelly flinched at the explosion, staring at the space where Tsaul had been before remembering the one she had been protecting.
"Ely...?"
She looked down at the form she still had her arms around.
"Ely, he's gone now..."
Ely  Ely looked timidly up. His heart was warmed by the kindness of her voice. It was the very kindness he'd wished for so many years: The kindness of a mother. Tears of joy, rather than sorrow, filled in his eyes as he wept onto Kelly's shoulder.
Ruby  Kelly smiled as she allowed him to cry, thinking it was relief of having been rescued again. She rubbed his back gently as she looked around to make sure nothing was sneaking up on them. She was surprising herself; she normally didn't feel any sort of pride of having done something so... huge, hoping it would get a good result. But hoping that she had helped Ely filled her with a positiveness that she didn't want to let go of.
"OK....? Feel better...?"
Ely  Ely smiled, "Yeah... I think I do."
