OR Spirit Lantern — Description

Spirit Lanterns are special lanterns imbued with Raz's magic, allowing it to capture weakened OR spirits and transport them. It can only capture OR spirits (not Aesthian) and hold one spirit at a time. The OR spirits must be weakened or willing to go in themselves or they will not be sucked into the lantern. Shattering the lantern will release the OR spirit inside, but as long as the OR spirit is inside, it will not be able to break out or even move in the lantern. In order to suck in a spirit into the lantern, the protector must open the small door on the side and hold it up to the OR spirit from at least 1 ft or less for it to work, then shut the door immediately. The door will then be locked until Raz opens it herself to transfer the spirit into the Osqye. She is the only one capable of transferring a spirit to the Osqye so your protector should give her the lantern or put it in the designated shelf in the Guardian Hall!

Two protectors are near the Spirit lantern shelves at all times. One is a special rank protector responsible for guarding the lanterns and the other is a protector of Rank II or more who is given a sign-up sheet on a clipboard to keep track of who borrows and returns the lanterns. Protectors are allowed to borrow lanterns for up to two weeks before they must be returned. If a protector needs a lantern for more than two weeks, they MUST contact a guardian to get special permission and a signature first.

[The lanterns are 7'' [18 cm] tall]

Stealing an empty Spirit lantern is considered a minor act of treason and can result in having your protector ICly (not OOCly) demoted by one rank and suspended for two months.
Stealing a Spirit lantern with an OR spirit inside it OR purposely smashing an OR lantern to free an OR spirit can be considered either a severe act of treason or grand treason depending on the severity of their actions. This will result in your protector being permanently expelled from being a protector and possibly having their ability to conduct mana (use magic) stripped away by the Osqye. Do not do this as it may mess with our main storyline and the feasibility of your protector being able to keep their job.
