I think its more.. fan assumptions then anything. They assume he's a human who can take a dragon form instead of actually looking into it instead. ^^' Its kinda sad tbh.. There was one account on tumblr that had him as, of all things, a dragon slayer.. >_>* Like.. really?

I freak'n love her art! I used to ship Volga with Zelda for a very short time. Her art style is beautiful and I take lot of inspiration from her work. Heh, I might even draw the ship just for fun cause its cute. ^^

I've never read your fan fictions before so I can't say I am. But I should of said that if these fans didn't know about him being an actual dragon with the ability to transform into a human, then their excused. Plus, as a writer myself, I know once you write something and then you learn your information or whatever was not correct, its hard to change your past writings. ^^' But I might check your writing since I will admit.. I like VolgaXZelda.. its just adorable~. And when I do, it mean a lot to me if you checked out the back story I've been writing on him. :3 I'm on a break from it though since school is eating at me.. But I'm hoping to get back into it soon. :3

Yeah, she's pretty much my only friend here on DA haha, though I've only known her for a short while. I totally agree, I adore her style, and I too, get inspired by her arts. I'm sure you could probably tell, since most of the arts on my Favorites is her stuff ^^'

Well the reason I brought up my fic is because I do have the 'half human/human who can turn into a dragon' thing you brought up, so that might irk you if you were to read it :/ I didn't know that it was actually confirmed anywhere that he was a dragon in a human body, but I'm fine with that too to be honest. Volga is a really intriguing character to me, so the way I see it is... whether he's a dragon in a human body or a human in a dragon body, he's a creature with intelligence and emotions. He has the ability to be in a human body, a dragon body, or transform parts of his human body into a dragon. All that changes is how the writer wants to perceive his personality/habits/character development/etc.

I don't have any problems with editing my fic and make an emphasis on him being a dragon in human form. But as you said though, it's tricky to go back and change your past writings, especially my first chapter, which is a kind of... an 'alternate' pre-Hyrule Warriors kind of intro.  A 'what-if' kind of thing, where Volga and Zelda meet as children (I just find this idea so cute) and from there it develops into something more.

Anyway if you ever do check out my fic, I hope that the whole half-human thing doesn't drive you crazy, or at the very least, consider it as an alternate fairy tale-ish thought from my perspective... and well, I hope that at the very least, the writing will be enjoyable for you. I've  been kind of rusty with writing, so I'm pretty critical of my own stuff.

Oh and which back story of yours are you referring to? Is this one you have upcoming, or one you have already written? I'll take a look, sure! And I can definitely understand about school getting in the way. I'm actually working a full-time job at the moment and it drains me completely x.x hope it all works out for you though, good luck with your writing and arts. I swear if I had any art talent at all, I'd be trying to make these practically non-existent ships shine. But for now all I have is words, not art

Fi x Ghirahim, hm? That actually does sound kind of cute. Admittedly, I'm usually amused at most Ghirahim pairings I see (since he's been paired with pretty much everyone xD) but I've definitely seen some works of Fi x Ghirahim that made me go awww. And that cake piece you're talking about sounds really cute! I don't think I've seen that one.

Aha, we might have some similar thoughts from time to time? I'm a little surprised actually, since I hardly run into Volga fans, let alone ones that ship him with chars like Zelda or Lana.  But yeah, your idea of them meeting as children, and Zelda having the gift of being able to see into the hearts of others - sounds interesting. I don't have quite the age gap between them as you do, though I'm sure that's also related to his 'dragon age', perhaps? Or maybe you wanted to establish that point of Zelda feeling like a little sister to him, rather than a love interest - at the very least, for that particular fic. Either way, neat idea!

It also makes convenient explanation for when Zelda actually confronts him in Hyrule Warriors at the Valley of Seers. I mean really, their whole interaction to me there... it just didn't feel like that had been their first time interacting. And well, as silly as it sounds, this one of the reasons the ship began to grow on me.

But anyway!

I haven't though of Volga's biology in that way, but your idea does put some thought into perspective. A kind of... connection I suppose, in relation to being able to share his heart like that, and then the fantasy/magic aspect of it. I like the creativity you have! Hm, well the closest I have to what you're describing right now is more about the soul, but it's still a little vague right now, because I haven't quite finalized it yet. It's a little darker themed so far, since poes are relevant, and are drawn to particular kinds of souls, but yeah.

Just want to say though, I respect that you want to have things as canonically accurate as you can, while having your own non-canonical, creative ideas to it. I too, am striving for this, but the canonical part is a little different since it's basically an 'alternate' pre-Hyrule Warriors and it was originally meant to be a more simple but endearing fairy tale. It looks like it'll be a little more complex than I intended, but I'll try my best to keep things flowing as smoothly as possible (hopefully).

I'll have to take a look at your fic, though I'm not sure how much time I'll have tonight (or rather, early this morning heh), and I'll let you know my thoughts. Lament of the Dragon Knight, right?

Its like how I love Z-Raids artwork. xD I just love her FixGhirahim ship so much and the comics she does are priceless. xD She even did one where Ghirahim and Fi were making Young Link a birthday cake and Ghirahim suddenly said "What if we use Volga's fire to bake it faster?" and Fi was like "Ghirahim.." and then he suddenly yelled out to Volga "Hey Volga!" and Fi was like "Ghirahim, no." xD I love how Volga was just standing there like "Hm?" Not knowing what's going on. xD

Like I said, I totally understand. ^^

OH MY GAWD! Do you, like, think the same way I do?! I have an almost same exact idea only Volga meets her as a full "grown" adult but she's only 5 years old when he meets her. She's very bright for a child her age and she has that special gift of being able to see the hearts of others without even knowing them for very long. She could see Volga's and knew he was trustworthy. He'd never harm an innocent life, and never plans to either. Impa thinks he's a threat at first but trusts Zelda's judgement since she's been right many times before. Volga's never interacted with a human child before but has always been interested in them.. especially since their the only ones who seem to be untouched by darkness.. You could say he begins to look at her as a very little sister who's very bright and very good at seeing him for who he really is..

Now like I said in other comment, I like to add a few things to Volga's Biology or whatever. ^^ Like the fact that its possible for him to share half his heart with a human he deems worthy in order to save their life, kinda like Dragon Heart. Also the idea that a dragon's heart is the source of the dragon's power. You take its heart, you control the dragon. And I mean in a literal sence.. Oh, and if you eat a dragon's heart while its still alive, you'll be granted all its powers and years it had left on it.. and since dragons live for 1,000 of years, its obvious the human would be given those many more years to live.

Oh, I just love going into details about how a character feels in their heart about something! I've always had this weird love for the mysteries of the heart and why its so important to have one even if ts not necessary.. The heart is a beautiful thing to have and its amazing how strong yet fragile the heart can be sometimes..

Oh its the current one. I'm not writing my VolgaXLana fic in along time. xD
