Sketchy montage 3/4, this time a handful of enemies and bosses from Super Mario Bros. 2 / Dokidoki Panic (except Clawgrip, he only appeared in SMB2).Fun fact 1:
My internet handle, chosen over 10 years ago, is borrowed from the boss of World 4, Fryguy. He was one of my favourite boss battles as a kid.
Fun fact 2:
Pokey and Ninji, two enemies who debuted in Dokidoki Panic/SMB2, were later included in Super Mario World.
...However, SMB2 hadn't been released in Japan at that time, and wouldn't be for another 2 years. Nintendo Japan had made SMB2 part of the series canon before even releasing the Mario version in Japan! That must have confused some fans.
Petty fact:
Bob-omb in SMB3 doesn't count, because he had a different name and design in Japan. The SMB3 design is the one that appears in all later games.
