Sol's mother Venna, short for Verbena, was a traveling rabbit who's 'instincts' warned her before disasters who suffered from a bone disease that caused the bones in her leg to deteriorate - though she used to mumble that it was "a fair trade, worthy of El-ahriah himself."

Sol's father, who was once called Maximus and renamed himself ClovesHop, however was an escaped house rabbit who became one of the top Owsla in his adopted Warren over time. Eventually he even rose to the rank of General and second in command to the Chief himself.

They met durring a long patrol where ClovesHop accidentally stumbled across a resting and hidden Venna within the brambles. Though any questions were left until later as a fox sprung upon them. The patrol managed to scare the Elil off and Venna found herself running with them away from the beast - and straight back to their warren. Even with the injury she was offered a place within there warren. Though as she'd find out much it was only due to the lack of Does.

Venna had a feeling she'd only be allowed to stay if she could produce kits, so in an effort to buy time she lied about what happened to her leg and claimed it was an injury from a Hurududu.(car) But due to her leg she also never was able to leave. After a few seasons she and ClovesHop were married as well as any rabbit pair could be, and not long after that were happily expecting their first litter of kits. But sadly it was not until she was expecting that she found out the truth of her new warren. They were notorious for "getting rid" of undesirable rabbits - including sometimes even newborn kits. Venna hid the truth about her leg and prayed to Frith, El-ahriah, Rabscuttle, and even Inle himself that her kits would be born as common as the leaves.
