Description So I'm really enjoying Zi-O, and one of my favourite incidental things about the series is the future Riders. Not only do I like the concept of using cool ideas for Rider themes that wouldn't necessarily carry a whole series (and thus, a whole toyline) as one-offs to flesh out the mythos, I also really enjoy that they reuse parts from old suits in creative and unique ways! So I thought, "that seems like a fun creative exercise", and that's what this project is about! I'll be designing Riders from the far flung alternate futures of Zi-O, as well as coming up with their civilian forms, which I haven't done before now! Hope you enjoy what I come up with!

Chickens kick ass, they're one of my favourite animals. I've always wanted to make a Rider based on one, and a while back I came up with a decent concept! However, all I managed to design was a helmet - a really cool helmet, but that was it. Enter Zi-O, and I finally know what to do with the idea!
As far as backstory goes, Riko Sato is something of a country bumpkin, but is tired of her unassuming life as a farmer's daughter. She's obsessed with all things fast - fast bikes, fast cars, fast food, fast living - so she's pretty impatient. She finds herself moving to the big city, which has always been her dream, but when she makes it there she finds the futuristic city lifestyle at odds with her strict moral compass. Through unknown means, she happens upon the high-tech GoGo Driver, along with a small metallic egg called a GoGo Tamago. This amazing device not only allows Riko to live life at a speed she never thought possible, but also to defend the weak and downtrodden as the fiery hot rod hero, Kamen Rider GoGo!

Pa-chin~!
Tamago? Let's go!
Kamen Rider... GOGO!!
(Kokekokko~!)

Her suit is, first and foremost, a reuse of the Kamen Rider Chaser suit. At first I attempted using the Mach undersuit with shoulder and greave parts from Type Speed, but not only was it too busy, but far too easily recognisable! The Chaser suit is generic enough that, with the right colour placement, it can suit my needs here just fine.
The helmet is entirely original, but way back when I designed it I took some very heavy influences from the original Showa Rider helmets - particularly the iconic egg-shaped eyes. Thinking about the suit as it would exist in real life, it would totally work as extra parts glued over one of the helmets from Kamen Rider The First and The Next, and i'm happy enough with that!
I don't really work in colour much anymore, but I do have a vague idea about her colour scheme. She's coloured more like a red junglefowl than anything else, so there's a lot of deep, dark green with fiery orange highlights, a bright red mohawk and a bluish-gunmetal colour for her faceguard (or "beak"), shins and feet. And of course, her eyes are a bright eggshell white, with a backlit crack across the middle of each lens.

In her plainclothes, I definitely wanted to continue the common theme with Rider's civvie outfits - they're always fashionable and cool as hell. I went with denim overalls before anything else, because I wanted to evoke some of that farmer imagery, but matched with the sneakers, shoulder-cut blouse and choker, I think she comes out looking pretty chic!

Anyway, hope you like what you see. Tell me what you think, and hey, maybe make some future Riders of your own!
