Description
...Nyx, who was patient and kind. (Yes this is part of the alphabet series. Yes it still exists. Yes this out of order!) A bit of long story for this one. I don't expect 99% of people to read it (or even her) but there's a story to tell with this one. One I feel like I should share. The most important thing to mention besides the fact that this was a gift for once upon a time is that .. well .. I'm a scumbag. Months ago I told her I'd make something special for her and this render was the byproduct. Only it was never that easy. It took so freaking long to make this, I invested so many countless hours. I dedicated so much of myself into this scene but it was hard. And it used to have so much more content. More tinies in the left hand. Tinies falling down. Terrified police officers with their quivering arms raised at the giantess. A stampede of people fleeing from the scene. Blood splatters on the ground. I was following my vision perfectly. This scene pushed my computer to its limits and before I knew it, the program crashed every five minutes or so . . . making the construction of this scene a nightmare. And I was getting so frustrated with myself. it consumed so much effort. It effected my health.
I put it off.
I've picked it at every now then but the latency issues made working around this scene completely unbearable. I'm sure you 3D rendering guys must understand the annoyance of lag in 3D space. It took me a minute to make one minor translation of an object in the scene, something I can normally perform instantly. There's no excuse for my inanity or why I never bothered to properly inform her of my technical issues, I should just sort of quietly discarded it.
And now I've been working at this for the last month and it's been awful. I've had to remove so many elements from the scene and.. I feel awful that it's not living up to any grand expectations. I feel awful that I made a conscious decision to silently sweep this under the rug because I couldn't cope with its size. I feel awful that I never even told her and yet . . . she still so positively left her digital footprint on my art, leaving warm remarks in the comment section. I knew I had to tighten my belt and give this another honest effort without breaks. And I've tried oh so very hard. To put in perspective how graphically intensive this scene was, every attempt to render it just crashed my computer lol. Anyway, I'm such a terrible photo editor, sorry the blood effects are so bad. This is a very long winded way just to say I'm sorry. There's no room for excuses here.
It's a little ironic really. How someone like myself, who simply adores the gentle aspect of these size shenanigans, can't draw out the compassion to be a decent human being sometimes.

Odd place to wear a ring but marvellous picture. I love the way no one dares look up at her because it is all too horrible. Well done. Emotions are hard to do in digital. Well conveyed.
I know the woes of investing much work and then coming to terms with having to reduce it. Happens in my stories as well. I write like ten pages in a complete haze, it's all perfect and then I go back to read it again only to find out that the ingoing setup is bullshit, unbelievable, unrealistic. I know computer troubles too. The glorified calculator I'm writing on is stuttering just by loading this page. As I am typing this comment, the words only form in the box ten seconds after my fingers left the keyboard. Imagine making a typo. Yeah. Not quite the same, for sure. You digital arts people need expensive marvels of machinery to do your work. But I'm poor. I can only afford this complete potato. With my main story now more than 500 pages, even Open Office is starting to work tediously slow. I'd like to say that I really, really, like this picture in it's current form. Sometimes, less is more, perhaps? I don't know. But calling yourself a scumbag over it seems overly self-critical to the point of vanity.
The blood effects on her hand are very realistic. The huge, flying drops of blood are not. Those you may have done without, but they do not destroy anything. When reducing a piece of art it is important to commit to it and go all the way. I think the spatter is a testament to what you wanted this to be like, what it could have been if not for your computer. In a way, that's cool too. The disgruntled, self-loathing artist, reality too limited for the expanse of his mind. But don't you eat yourself up over it. This is an amazing piece. Thank you.

Something worth mentioning (without reading past the first sentence, I'll give that good read in a bit) is that she's not actually wearing a ring. What appears to be part of a ring is just the underside of a high heeled shoe.
Fancy edit! Because I read the rest of it. And I thank for you all your kind words and criticisms. I agree, the flying drops of blood is a bit of an eye sore. But what I really appreciate is your thought-provoking insight into my character. I feel like you really understand the source of my frustration and I very much appreciate you pointing that out as someone who can relate.
Thank you for your kind and well-constructed words!

I'm more surprised no one else jumped on that, haha! Next we have giantesses singing said song and having a good time while on a rampage through a city.

I'm grateful for this gift, and please don't feel bad. I wish that it hadn't taken such a toll on you.
You mentioned that you had grand expectations, but I love the image as it is. I really like the perspective, and it's not a perspective that I see often. It allows me to imagine what it'd feel like to look down and see tiny people wiggling and pleading in my grasp. You also captured the appearance of my hands well, and I adore the dark nail polish. The part that I like the best, however, is the utter despair of the survivors and the knowledge that they'll soon face the same fate. There is a cruel power to the piece that I appreciate.
In order words, this captures my fantasies perfectly and I absolutely adore it.

Yup, it's their tiny faces averted or buried in their hands that makes it. You can hear the wails.

Oh no why did she do that? She should enjoy the tinies she captures.

Man, even though it is just a "light version" of the piece you once created this is aboloutly breathtaking. You can feel the pain of the people in the right hand. And you can feel the desperation of the people in the left hand. And you can even feel how great the squish must have felt for Nyx.
It is a really awesome picture. Adding the things you once had in simply would have blown my mind!

A nice composition. Very dramatic. This giantess is obviously a little rough with the little ones. But that is good. Remember the quote from the Third Man movie:
"Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."
The Third Man is one of my favorite movies, and you are one of my favorite artists!

For what it's worth, you're always so incredibly hard on yourself where we don't see it. We see another superb render and awesome interactive scene. I'm sure she'll love it, even if you're not happy with doing it the way you originally had planned it, it sounds awesome though.
I have my new rig now for doing DAZ now so hoping to join you talented artists soon, and the frustration that can go with it,lol

I...
I just don't know what to say.
I read it all and can't help but feel compassion here.
Flagg. This is superb, stupendous work.
Nowhere near what you intended to do in the first place, i'm sure but since i never saw what you wanted to do... the people fleeing, the police officers...
I'm flabbergasted.
GiantessNyx and you high raised the bar of what's possible to depict in such pov vision.
It's engaging. The sense of depth is dizzying. The cruel story, the casual discard of lives, obvious and chilling.
I love your work, more than ever.
Please collaborate more with nyx! (hint: if you dare!

You can always turn off elements in the scene that you're not using at the moment. That'll reduce lag considerably. Pose something, get it the way you want, then hide it for the time being until it's time to render. This is especially true for clothing and high poly props.
One other thing you can do is lower every object in the scene to base resolution. Then set them back when you render it.
Otherwise, yeah...lag is gonna be astronomical.

I didn't want to include all the technical stuff but I DID do all of that. Literally everything was base resolution except the giantess and I did hide everything as I posed things individually (though sometimes I left some on if the pose was interacting with it in some way) but one of the main issues is that upon rendering, it would crash anyway. So none of that mattered at all.
But yeah, thanks for your help anyway. Trust me, I exhausted every option I had.

After all that, and it was still lagging? Plus crashes on top of it?
Dear me. That's quite a pickle indeed. I had a feeling you knew about all that stuff, but it's unfortunate that it couldn't be more helpful.

I feel your pain. Well...I did. There is nothing more frustrating than lag when you're in the zone.
I'm sure your watchers would not begrudge a few patreon donations if it meant you could push out more elaborate content faster.
