Description
EDIT: January 20, 2014: Updated script to apply the posterize filter map to all layers, the active layer, linked layers, and visible layers. Please delete the previous version of this script and download/install modified version.This script runs the Posterize filter on all layers in an image. The preview image shows the regular image on the left and the posterized version on the right.
You choose the posterize level and the script does the rest.
Download the zip file, open the zip file by double-clicking on it and copy/paste the script to your GIMP scripts folder (ie...C:/Program Files/GIMP-2.0/share/gimp/2.0/scripts). Refresh your scripts and you're ready to go. The script can be located under the Colors > Posterize All Layers...

good, i'm needing this, usually at the time of indexing an image most of the colors get ruined even if color dithering is set in any mode, with color posterizing i can adjust the amount of colors the picture will have before converting to an indexed image, and less artifacts are present if this works i'm thanking you a lot.
