Have you forgotten yourself yet?
Have you forgotten how you asked for
this?
How you asked to become nothing
more than a slipper, a specific one, an
old and dirty one?
Do you even register me talking to you
anymore, I don’t even know where
your face is beyond the old stains and
the toeprints from months of use,
even before you arrived.
I can’t even remember your name, and
I don’t think you remember it either,
not that it matters in your position.
Anyways, I’m gonna go watch Netflix
and wear you again for a few hours so
I’ll probably forget you’re down there
for a few months again.
