Recipe Ideas - Reptile Drops — Description
These are the drops for the two mobs I posted today. The Reptile Skin will be applicable for all reptile creatures I'll post in the future, and the description below should suffice. The Basilisk Eye, though... well, again, it should speak for itself, really.

Reptile Skin
Reptilian creatures have dry scaly skin, which is as good as chain where armor is concerned. You can actually craft it into armor like leather, you can make books with it like leather - in fact, Reptile Skin makes a handy substitute for any recipe that uses Leather. You can even dye it like leather, though the result will of course be a darker shade than in the case of dyed wool or leather. In technical terms, the Lightness of the colors, using the HSL scheme, is always subtracted by a factor of .25/1, unless the result goes below -1 Lightness in which case it will default to -1 (resulting in completely black scales, rather like the Enderdragon). Komodo Dragons drop Green Reptile Skin, while Basilisks drop Black Reptile Skin.

Basilisk Eye
Should you manage to kill a Basilisk (and if you manage to do that then boy, am I impressed!), you will be rewarded with the fabled Basilisk Eye. Its stare is capable of slowing mobs even after you've gouged it out of the socket (right-click on the
mob to be affected while holding the eye), and it's useful for potions too - brewing it with a Mundane Potion will result in a Potion of Slowness if you want to use Nether Warts/Sugar/Fermented Spider Eyes for something else, and brewing it with a Potion of Poison results in a Potion of Wither - not quite as fatal as Basilisk Venom, but hey, at least it's the next best thing!
