Somewhat inspired by a comment from Linkara. I agree that the team should have gotten some kind of redesign when they were given the Ninja powers. I tried to make them as recognizable as possible while shifting the motif to the new animals. My reason for omitting the white Ranger is essentially due to my attempts to merge Power Rangers and Super Sentai, and for the moment I have yet to figure out how reconcile the different universes in regards to that particular character. That said, I like the idea of the MMPR team eventually getting a unique look so they're not exclusively reusing the powers of ancient teams. The black Ranger was easily the hardest to design, since being a frog meant I had to remove the main elements making it distinct.Related content

What if you redesign the white and pink ranger's helmets based on Jetman?

I don't see why I would do that or how it would help, Jetman doesn't have anything to do with Mighty Morphin beyond being the season before Zyuranger. Not knocking it of course, I really like Jetman and love their designs

You can combine the jetman and zyuranger helmets and color them white and pink.

They totally should've redesigned the suits to match the zords but Saban was still occasionally using Zyuranger footage. Then again, they used non Black RX footage in Masked Rider so I'm not excusing Saban.

That's fair, my faith in Saban has waned over time. That said I can understand not wanting or even considering the idea at the time of designing five or six brand new helmets (and if they didn't get Toei to make them for them they'd look terrible anyway).

I don't really want my artwork being modified by anyone but me, and beside that the Go-Buster helmets look nothing like that.

You ever seen the A-Squad from SPD? They had In Space helmets recycled.

And as silly and kinda lazy as I find those costumes, at least it was consistent within the team. Plus Space had very simple helmets and in canon could have inspired others. The Go-Busters on the other hand have a very specific style, and as I said, I don't really care for my original design being used in that way. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but if you wanna do that I'd rather suggest using it as an opportunity to push yourself artistically and see what you can make yourself. Take a look at the Go-Buster helmets, trace them and figure out the common traits, and see what you can make yourself. Even trace my own work for inspiration if you want to, but make it your own, modify it beyond colour. I can see some creativity in you, I wanna see how far you can take it.

Something to contemplate, I've been meaning to do Jetman for a long time but the nature of the designs and the quality of the reference mean I'm a little anxious to tackle them. As for mixing in Dairanger elements, it's certainly not a bad idea since I would likely be adding the white ranger by then. I imagine when I do inevitably redo them they'll end up being a blend of at least three or four different things which should result in a hopefully recognizable but still unique look.

I'm running by my own version of things here. If I decide it makes sense in my own head canon to include the white ranger I may, until then he's not here. And I certainly won't be going there until I've done Dairanger itself.
