Deeper in the dungeon, Adrian had fancied himself a master of an ancient device, the rack, and in true Inquisitor fashion, was using it to get Lucilla to give up a secret bank code for an account they had discovered was in her name. Of course, Lucilla didn’t even know of such an account’s existence, let alone the code for access, but that did not stop Adrian from turning the wheel and increasing the tension on the rack.
Lucilla groaned in pain as her body was pulled further to its limit. She arched to keep the tension on her body minimal. She had truly become a damsel in distress, but she would not give in to these villains. She could handle anything they threw at her if it meant that they weren’t hurting Shen. She couldn't even fathom letting them hurt him, and deep down, she worried that it was her fault that they were in this mess…
