Tonsillar Crypt — Description
Though a ravenous creature, this bizarre fleshy being is incapable of chasing down its food. Its strange three-toed "leg" can only crawl along the ground at a snail's pace, which means any prey that has a good set of legs can easily outrun it. Though it cannot run, it can do something better. It is capable of creating a foul, hardened substance from its enlarged pores, which it crafts into sharp shards and limbs. By inflating its organs, it can fire off these hardened missiles to impale prey and down them. If wounds do not drop the victim, the nasty coating of bacteria and saliva will soon cause an infection and lead to death. Once prey dies, it is a simple matter of slithering its way over and swallowing them whole. If the victim hasn't died, and the creature catches them, then sharp shards acting as teeth help dispatch them before they can cause any troubles in its stomach. If wounded or incapable of moving, the creature can use its strange substance to create skeletal drones that can go out and hunt prey for it. Victims are cut down and dragged back to the main body so it can feast. These drones are covered in infectious saliva and sharp edges, making them lethal opponents. It is best to flee these beings, which is easy to do since you can smell them a mile away.
