Description Within this world, the sacred bodily fluids are what bring life. The Four Humors are the prime elements that run the planet and give all living things the power and strength to survive. They exist within all, and can be found in practically any environment. From pools and streams to solidified statues and fungus-like growths, these elements are everywhere. Wherever great stores of these Humors can be found, the elementals roam. Elementals are birthed from the pools and streams of their corresponding Humor, by what means, no one is fully sure. Some suggest impurities within the stores are what trigger their creation, as these births only occur within the wild. In cities and towns, such stores and banks have their Humors purified, which probably removes the materials that cause elementals. Emerging from these pools, the elementals stalk the land, living much like simple beasts. Their bodies constantly convert whatever they consume into the corresponding Humor, and people quickly took notice of it. Seeing the elementals as perfect livestock for the life giving Humors, special hunters have gone out and captured these beings and then sell them to cities, towns and individuals. These elementals can then be harvested, draining away fluids slowly over time. Some choose to keep them like pets or loved livestock, giving them space, a good supply of food and care. Other places see elementals as merely vessels, so they trap them within tight containers, force feeding them nutrients and draining away the fluid. Regardless of treatment, the hunting and capturing of elementals have turned them into hostile creatures. Elementals found in the wild will attack whenever they see a person, instantly assuming them to be an enemy. Elementals that have been raised and treated well within society are much more friendly and peaceful.

Though aggressive, the four elementals are seen as signs of a healthy world and a good environment. It is said that when the elementals die away, or when the pools fail to birth new ones, than the world is sick. Some people believe this and thus fight to regulate the hunting and gathering of elementals, while others see it as foolishness and believe that the harvesting should continue as normal.

Elemental of Phlegm - Of the four elementals, the Elemental of Phlegm is the most passive. They do not consume wildlife or hunt, rather they feed off moss and lichens, often consuming very small amounts. They seem to be very calm, and quite observant of their surroundings. Many who have seen one have witnessed it stopping and looking around its environment for long periods of time. Though more peaceful than the others, Elementals of Phlegm will still fight back against foes. Instead of attacking, though, they use their fluids to heal other creatures or monsters that are attacking its foes. They will find ways to aid their fellow beings and buff them during fights, never attacking straight on, but rather helping others do the fighting.

Elemental of Black Bile - Cold and calculating, Elementals of Black Bile move and act in a robotic fashion. Just by looking at them, one can see how they inspired the creation of the Golems. Though abstract in form, these elementals still hunt and feed. Floating through the wilderness, they will seek out suitable prey. By scanning its surroundings, it can deduce the best method of attack, and will follow what steps will lead to the highest chance of success. When close to prey, the suspended liquid spikes will lance out and impale with pinpoint accuracy, always aiming for the vitals of the creature. Usually a single attack is enough to take down small game, and the elemental will keep its corpse stuck to its spikes as it is slowly converted. When attacking, Elementals of Black Bile are very patient and do not make a move until the right opportunity arises. Those who take it on may see its lack of fighting as a sign of fear or hesitancy, but it is actually gathering power. The longer it waits before it attacks, the stronger the blow will be. With its scanning eyes and precise movements, it is more likely to hit vital areas and thus deal severe wounds. When aided by other creatures of the wild, Elementals of the Black Bile can be devastating opponents, attacking while ones attention is elsewhere.

Elemental of Yellow Bile - Practically nothing but a mouth and stomach, Elementals of Yellow Bile are well known for their tendency to eat almost anything. They are not picky hunters, and will use their expansive mouths to swallow anything that is slow enough to be eaten. When prey proves to be too mobile, they will vomit up a stream of burning Bile to wound them and slow them down. What remains will be sucked down and slowly digested. When in a fight, these elementals will just keep trying to eat opponents. This may seem like a simple strategy to avoid, but they are very determined and won't stop trying. Their flexible bodies and armored plates allow them to take many hits, and will let an opponent wail away at them while they attempt to consume them.

Elemental of Blood - Very erratic and never staying in one place, Elementals of Blood are very tricky beasts to handle. Hopped up on the Blood that forms their bodies, they are constantly twitching and shaking. Their movements are quite jerky and almost impossible to see, which they use to their advantage. When hunting, they will quickly jump from place to place, disorienting foes as they maneuver around them and leap in for a piercing attack. Prey is knocked over and impaled with their proboscis, which they use to drain all fluids within. These liquids are slowly converted to Blood, which only energizes them more. These elementals seem to be very playful and love to find ways to amuse themselves. Unfortunately, this usually translates to them toying with their prey. When fighting an Elemental of Blood, speed is key. They are extremely fast and very hard to hit, so one needs to be just as quick. Positioning is also crucial, as the elemental will try to get around to a blindside so it can strike. Their spiky bodies can make any glancing blow quite painful.

These four are the most common forms to be seen within the wilds. They can be found in large numbers when one is far away from cities and towns, as these populations are not hunted. However, other forms can be encountered, and they are considered to be much more dangerous. Elementals are capable of using the art of fusion, and they will bind themselves with other elementals to create stronger new forms to fight with. They are also capable of binding to certain other creatures, powering them up when they are in the heat of battle.

There are legends of two other elementals that can be found in the wild. These two are made from the Holy Fluids, and thus are incredibly rare. Though not easily found, they are considered to be extremely dangerous and not to be approached.
