Ghouls — Description
As is well known, The Four Humors can be consumed or absorbed for a variety of reasons. Blood acts like a stimulant, while Phlegm is used for healing. Injections of data-filled Black Bile can impart knowledge, while small doses of Yellow Bile can add some pop and sizzle to a meal or drink. Each of these Humors have a use, but it is warned to all that one should not consume too much of any one of these fluids. Overdosing on one of The Four Humors can lead to major side effects and problems. Overdosing on Blood leads to vamperism, while too much Phlegm can end with zombification. These two fluids are the ones most often abused to such a point, as they act as drugs and can be quite addicting. The other two Humors, though, can lead to overdosing as well, just not as a common. Consuming too much Black Bile creates Wraiths, while Yellow Bile can turn one into a Ghoul.

A person turning into a Ghoul is a rare thing, as not many consume Yellow Bile in such dosages to allow the transformation to occur. Yellow Bile that is eaten is only used in tiny doses, as a spice in food. To become a Ghoul, one has to literally drink large quantities of it, which lots of people find quite disgusting. Yellow Bile is a spice, not a food, eating large amounts of it is like chowing down on handfuls of cinnamon. If someone were to go through with this, however, they would devolve into a Ghoul.

The transformation process involves the swelling of the stomach and other body parts. Some limbs may emaciate, while others bloat up to immense proportions. The swelling causes the eye lids to remain permanently closed, forcing them into blindness. Fingernails may harden and become solid as steel, while the tongue will mutate into a makeshift proboscis. The resulting Ghoul is ravenous for Yellow Bile, and will do anything to consume more. Blind, they rely on smell and sound to hunt, sniffing out beings who have Yellow Bile within their bodies. Prey is chased down and their tongues are used to drain away this precious fluid. No matter how much is consumed, it is never enough. Ghouls will feast upon Yellow Bile until it is all gone, or until they explode. A Ghoul exploding is no joke, as they do not merely rupture. Since Yellow Bile is volatile in certain states, introduction of certain chemicals and enzymes to these bloated beasts can trigger a massive blast.

Unlike Vampires and Zombies, Ghouls are feral and are not capable of higher thought. The fluid boosts their aggression so much that they are always in a state of rage. When Ghouls have no Yellow Bile to feed on, they are often lashing out at their surroundings and making quite a mess.
