Description Agatha belongs to the Slime Hag species, an amphibious, jawless race that is best known for their ability to create copious amounts of slime. Though many are content living normal lives, Agatha took to magic and spent years learning how to become a witch. It wasn't long before she unlocked the secrets of the trade and quickly made herself one of the most powerful witches in the kingdoms. The potions and creatures she births from her cauldron are some of the best around, and many who seek miracles turn to her for help. She spends most of her time at home, a large cave that has been fixed up and modified for her needs. Within the cave are dozens of shelves that hold hundreds of collected ingredients, ranging from newt's eye to dragon bone dust. With this vast collection, she is always experimenting new recipes and spells, throwing a bit of this and that into her living cauldron. Whatever results from the mixture is jotted down in her personal journal, as a note of what (or what not) to do. The book contains thousands of different spells and summons, all from experimentation on her part. It is widely sought after by other mages and witches, who wish to learn the secrets kept inside. This desire for her knowledge has caused her to be rather aggressive to those who invade her territory, believing that they have come to steal her life's work. If it is their intention or not, intruders will immediately be captured. For this she sends out her horde of Slime Golems, creatures of bone and slime that she has created. Her minions will seize the offenders and bring them back to her cave, where she will hear their explanation of the intrusion, or find a use for them in her experiments.

Since she is constantly brewing and mixing, she requires a steady supply of ingredients flowing into her cave. For this, she sends her Slime Golems out to collect specific ingredients and bring them back to her. Who or what gets harmed in the process is not her problem, as she just sends them to collect. In her arsenal as well is a captured Cauldrone, which she found and reprogrammed to serve her. This walking cauldron is on constant harvest duty, only coming back to dump its load and then head back out. For other ingredients that are not so easily obtained, she gets through outsiders. Those who come to her cave begging for a specific potion or spell to fix their woes are sent on a quest to find and bring back a specific, hard to get, ingredient. Those who succeed will get their reward, while those who fail end up replacing the missing item with themselves. She has connections with certain travelers and traders, those who have her trust that can come to her cave unharmed. These folk will bring goods to trade, and the two will haggle over who gets what for what. These times of barter are not seen as strict business meetings, as she is very friendly with those who have earned her trust and she will happily show good hospitality.

Her reputation to the outside world is that of a stereotypical witch, with the peasants seeing her as a cruel, scheming monster. It is said that she will lure unfortunate souls who seek miracles and then take advantage of them, most of the time having them do horrible quests or harvesting them for ingredients. Those caught by her Slime Golems will be dragged back to her cave, where she will harvest their bones. When it comes to Agatha, many folk are fine with staying far away from her and her minions. Though the image they paint isn't a nice one, there are parts of it that are true. She does send her minions out to collect, which usually involves stealing or bringing harm to certain folk. Those in need do come to her doorstep seeking miracles, in which she will send them on a difficult quest. And she totally takes people's bones, but that is for people who have failed her quest or come to steal her book. She doesn't steal people from their homes just to take their bones, not when she has such a supply of them banging on her door. Though she is distrusting and quick to subdue those who come near her home, she is a rather pleasant being. She does not revel in violence or death, and she does not go out of her way to be cruel. She is just focused on being the best witch around, and sees most beings and individuals as means to an end. If she wants your arm, she'll just chop it off and be done with it, there is no need for ceremony or torture.

But she has not sacrificed her love life for this profession, as Agatha is a married woman. She is married to her husband Cyclos, whom she lives with. The two have been together for many years and their marriage is a happy one. Her enormous husband resides in a cavern below her main chambers, which is accessed by a trapdoor/dumbwaiter. Those who attack her or anger her are sent down below, where they are devoured by Cyclos. He then vomits the bones onto the dumbwaiter and sends them up to his wife so she can make more Slime Golems. Though she seems hell bent on witchcraft, her husband is the most important thing to her. She would gladly give up her spells and potions if it meant keeping him safe. When she isn't working on potions, dealing with outsiders or collecting goods, she is down below with Cyclos. Just being with each other is a joy to them.

If danger comes to her doorstep, Agatha is well equipped for taking on foes. She is capable of firing a viscous slime from her hands and nostril, shooting vast quantities that can engulf attackers. This slime can cement foes in place, or pin them to walls in thick cocoons. She is very precise with her slime slinging, easily able to fire small gobs to seal mouths, gunk up crossbows, cover pouches and block incoming shots. With no weapons in hand, she can subdue multiple attackers and bring down the toughest warriors. Hard to fight when your sword is covered in gunk and your boots are stuck to the floor. Her skin is naturally resistant to the slime, keeping it from sticking to her body. If things get physical, she can coil and constrict enemies, while her agile frame is perfect for dodging and evading. She can land some stinging blows with her stirring stick if it comes down to it. With a great knowledge in potion making and magic, she can arm herself with a wide variety of spells and magical liquids. Potions will be chucked or sprayed on attackers, with the results varying, but often quite painful. She can cause her cauldron to spew spells and fountains of burning liquid when needed. Combine this with her Cauldrone and Slime Golems, and it is little wonder why no one has ever been able to steal her tome.

Agatha's end goal is unknown, and in all honesty, she doesn't know herself. She just keeps mixing and brewing, just like she has done for years. She believes that someday she will stumble upon something that will give her an epiphany, and from there she will know what to do. But for now she is quite content making potions, learning magic and falling asleep in the coils of her loving husband.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At last, here is my hagfish witch, Agatha! I would say she is one of my favorite characters, if it wasn't for the fact that all my characters are my favorites. Another being in the KotWT universe, but she is not really a villain. A character that the order will run into and have some initial issues with, but eventually the two will settle the matter.

And I don't know why, but I absolutely love the fact that she is married. Not sure why I like it so much. But the idea of her and Cyclos being together as husband and wife is just so happy to me. Maybe because villains (Though not really one) really don't have relationships? I don't know.
