Continuing from this:

SilvesterVitale - Confrontation

Eli

His tongue poked at the inside of his cheek in an annoyed fashion while listening to Hiri denying being aware of his advances.

“You were blushing!” he took a step back, releasing her from the semi cage behind his arm, and threw his hands up in the air demonstratively. “I thought you were aware.” Dropping his arms to his sides he looked away, annoyed, but mostly experiencing a feeling of defeat. He stared into the night over the ocean, which was more like a pitch black wall to him, but he could hear the ocean waves crash in on the beach.

You know what? Fuck it.

He turned around and closed the gap he had initially created between them. His hand was placed back on the tree for support and he leaned in closer to her, so close he could stare into her eyes. Her skin was soft under his large and rather rough hand when he reached for her chin, thumb pushing down on her bottom lip. There was a short pause, as if he was asking for permission, until he finally pressed his lips against hers.

Hiri

Hiri opened her palms in front of her, she had nothing to hide here.

“I just thought you were kind! And like that to everyone!!” And of course she blushed, Eli was way too much of a handsome man to leave her indifferent.

But when her friend close the space between them, Hiriel could easily feel her face flush red and the night get much warmer. Then her heart skipped a beat when contact was finally made — Hiriel could only remain frozen, her big doe eyes glued to his, completely still in the anticipation. This was a lot at once.

She hadn’t been kissed in at least a century.

But man did she missed it more than she thought.

One of Hiri’s hand found its place on the outside of Eli’s arm while the other naturally went up to his neck as she reciprocated the kiss

Eli

The initial force of the kiss softened at her touch to his neck, like a sign that the kiss wasn’t unwelcome, and as an encouragement to continue. His shoulders dropped when the tension eased, he hadn’t been prepared for any of this, and for a moment things had seemed to derail in the completely wrong direction. Then to this. Whatever this was?

With his eyes closed he could smell the smokey scent from the fire she had been sitting at, and with his nose rubbing against hers a whiff of her fragrance reached his senses. One particular note stood out among the rest. Saffron. He wanted to bury his face into her. Devour her whole. But he knew he couldn’t have her here.

It was with a certain anguish he eventually broke the kiss, and he took his own bottom lip in his mouth to savor her taste. Still leaning over her, his eyes stared down on the sand beneath their feet until he lifted his gaze to look at her again. He didn’t know what to say.

Hiri

Hiriel melted in the kiss, feeling almost limp against the palm tree Eli pressed her to. Her mind never considered the idea that someone could see them, not that she cared right now (and anyone who saw them together before would definitely not be shocked by that turn of events)

But needless to say that when they parted -while she had blushed often from his doings-  Hiri’s pale face was never this red before. Her big bright eyes seeked his. Not only trying to get a read on Eli’s thoughts, but try to get a better assessment of his pupils -what if he really was under the influence??

Both ended up inconclusive. She had no clue. So instead of remaining in silence any longer, she broke it.

"You know…" Hiriel started on a hushed tone, only to be shared between eachother.

" Matt got a husband." She said in a breath, as if to subtly tell Eli that she was never flirting with the man —since she became quite aware of why he reacted this strongly about it. Yet his new rival was never one in any way. But she knew better than underline the fact that he felt threatened.

And then, as if moved by this whole new tension between them, Hiriel courageously let her hand find Eli neck again, lifting herself on the tip of her toes to kiss him again.

Eli

She was looking very attentively at his eyes when they met, not sure what she was searching for, but he was looking right back into hers. He wasn’t intoxicated. High on her perhaps, but he had merely been drinking one glass of whiskey.

His attention spiked when she spoke for the first time after the kiss, eyebrows slightly lifted wondering what she was about to say. He didn’t regret this, not one bit, but it may not have been the best way to accomplish what he had been trying to say.

“He got a husband.” Eli repeated her words, then sucked on his teeth, eyes drawing a little to the right in embarrassment. A sigh escaped him, now he felt kinda dumb to have been so worked up about it all.

She didn’t seem to mind however, not anymore, he was pretty certain about that when she went in for a second kiss, and he knew he needed to practise selfrestraint. Those little fingers, warm and gentle at the base of his neck, sent a myriad of little signals through his whole nervous system. He broke away eventually, lips slowly brushing across her cheek til her ear where he placed a light kiss.

“Should we go somewhere else?” He whispered.

Hiri

Eli’s lips on the skin of her face, and the small intimate kiss he left on her managed to get a faint shiver from Hiriel. Damn she was not mentally prepared to any of this. But even if breathless, she remained right next to him, fully taking in that plot twist.

Its the man’s question that  had her fully freeze for a second.

What did he mean by that?

Up until now she was blissfully ignorant to all of Eli’s attempts at anything more than friendship — just to suddenly start overthinking every word adressed to her.

"Where do you want to go?" The pale woman asked in a hushed voice, pinching her bottom lip between her teeth. Hoping he’d be clearer in his intention —bold of him to ask her to be clearer with him earlier—

Gods why was it so hot all of a sudden, thebintense proximity made her slightly lightheaded. Hiri’s eyes still managed to fall down to the ground —she had dropped her cup when Eli initially kissed her, and seeing it again reignited that initial idea .

"I still wish to stop at the bar." Hiriel claimed with a bit of a nervous but delicate laugh,

She so needed a drink now.

Eli

Eli drew his head back a little so he could see her face and carefully reached for her chin, softly stroking it with a finger in thought. He noticed she held her bottom lip between her teeth and with his thumb pressed on it to force it out of the pinch.

“I don’t know.” He whispered. “Just somewhere away from people.” He had just got here before going after her, but he would prefer to leave the crowded area.

When she looked down Eli’s eyes followed, landing on the dropped cup that lay in the sand. He bent down and picked it up, brushing it off for her.

“Sure.” he said in a hushed tone and gave her the cup. He could hear the nervousness in her voice. “I’ll wait, then we can take a walk along the beach or something.”

Hiri

Hiriel carefully listened to him, she would have chewed on her lip if he had not pulled it out of her own bite. Here he was, not really answering the question Hiri actually wanted to know. So much for asking her to be clear, Eli wasnt anywhere better at that.

But she did not press further —yet. Instead Hiriel took the cup as Eli handed it to her, hell she knew she would need something stronger than punch now.

"Thank you." Was simply added while her eyes never left his.

" Sounds good to me, I’ll be swift."

A walk on the beach seemed innocent enough. Maybe she was wrong from expecting the worst so soon?

"You stay there now." Hiriel still added in jest as she moved away from Eli, shooting him a small grin even if she wasnt sure he could see it. Before heading to the bar.

She held it together while close to her friend(?) appearing calmer, only to feel more and more shook and breathless as she approached the destination.

"Two Whiskey please." The pale lady instantly requested, made sure to have the barman pour slightly more than he should have and tipped generously.

The first glass was taken in one swig, no thinking, no hesitation, just straight to the point.  Hiriel let out a big sigh of kind-of-relief and put a hand to her own forehead as she tried to process the events for a few long seconds. Then took a sip of the second glass and went back on her tracks, not wishing to make Eli wait too long.
