~Happy birthday Selene Chiroptera~

With the backdrop of the winter holidays, Elizabeth Chiroptera gave birth to her seventh child. Her previous six children never made it far. Two still births and four lasting at most ten months had left Elizabeth scared and broken. After the fourth child, who lasted four months, she became disillusioned to having babies. But her husband needed an heir, so she pushed on, having five more over time, nine in total.

Selene is the only one who survived to adulthood and at the time of birth her mother felt little. She was so used to and expecting the baby to die that she never developed attachments to latter five born. Selene was never openly bother by her mothers distant behavior, though she did grow closer to her daughter as she became an adult, but it did hurt her in ways she never realized. It affected how she ended up as a mother herself and made her own childrens lives harder then they needed to be.
