Description

Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it, ah, out of sight - opening lyrics to Bobby Darin's cover of Mack the Knife

Highly ironic lyrics in this case given that Vinnie the Knife here isn't exactly being inconspicuous about the giant knives he's carrying, or the nearly as oversized knives he carries in unsafe fashion (but when you're a pseudo-demon, accidental castration isn't exactly something that scares you anymore. "It'll grow back")

Drawn for me by DevanMuse, this guy has technically appeared in my gallery before, albeit as a bodiless entity. One of the bosses described here in Joe and pals' first-adventure-framed-as-a-BEU-that'll-never-exist...

The Knifemaker AKA Vinnie the Knife - A ruthless thug but also a surprisingly skilled cutler, one whose demonic strength makes him more than capable of turning non-lethal utensils into deadly projectiles. One of La Famiglia’s earliest successes when it comes to creating “pseudo-demons.”

Design Notes

He might not look it but he's one of the tallest characters in my sad little setting that's still relatively human in appearance. Think around Faust's height (of Guilty Gear fame) when standing up straight.

Those knives he's holding, meanwhile... they might look only slightly bigger than average but in the hands of a normal-sized human they'd be around this size.

Additional Notes

1. He's but a minor villain in my setting, and yet the Knifemaker is one of those who I show odd favoritism to. I don't know why. I probably just have this 'thing'/bias in favor of giant villains, whether Abomination-sized or freakishly tall but lean and stringy.

2. Besides the additional, slightly smaller knives on his belt, the Knifemaker carries many more inside him that he's capable of expelling outwards (not at all unlike part one Jojo's undead version of Jack the Ripper).

3. Even if he's not particularly bulky, his giant height (nine plus feet) might seem like it would make stalking some prey but difficult, but a) the architecture in my world is just plain different, already most places are built to accomodate larger non-humans and b) Vinnie rarely moves like a normal person. Half the time he's hunched over, essentially crouch-walking at abnormal speeds, while other times he'll simply start running sideways (spider crawling) on the walls of the few spaces that are too big for him to easily maneuver around.
