Princess Morphine — Description
The face of evil itself.

Princess Morphine not only carries the most deadly contagion in the galaxy, he IS disease itself. Originally just a castoff product by a single mother, the evil professor Rottdinger used him as a test subject to create the perfect Darling, one that could withstand brutal physical abuse and not be smart enough to retaliate, thanks to an internal and renewable source of pain killer, hence the name.

What he got was Princess Morphine, patient zero of a mutated form of Koopa Immunity Deficiency Syndrome. Disease personified, Morphine is immune thanks to the pain killing hormone he secretes. He will only keep producing it as long as he continues to complete the cycle and proliferating the virus. The same virus that kills infectees makes him immortal, begging the question as to its origins. In others, this hormone releases a poison in the body that attacks the brain long before the other organs and because the symptoms never present themselves the same way in two individuals, the disease is nearly impossible to detect before it's too late. This extremely frustrating aspect has given some anecdotal evidence to support the theory that the virus has a will of its own.

When the virus breaks out into K.I.D.S, also known as Morphine's Disease, it usually takes the following course:

1. Mental status change. The patient may display a decreased need for sleep and heightened creativity, and increased libido. Naturally this is the point where the infection is at its most contagious.
2. The onset of very high fever and a flu-like illness. Aphasia and tremor.
3. Diminishing ability to chew and swallow. Loss of control over bodily functions. Mental state alternating between violent outbursts and catatonia. Severe self injury and suicidal behavior often observed.
4. Tremor intensifies. Complete loss of motor skills and speech. Painful muscle cramps. Fever up to 105 common. This is the beginning of the end for most patients.
5. Death or brain death, from either or a combination of the following: Renal failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, hyperthermia, stroke and/or starvation/dehydration. Because the disease is always fatal, doctors may choose to withhold fluids for a quick and painless death in cases that linger on.

Princess Morphine was granted person status, if only to be able to legally incarcerate him, after a series of horrible deaths a Swedish T&N fraternity chapter. The Princess is kept in the isolation ward at Dark Star Penitentiary, the galaxy's largest and strictest facility for the incurably insane. He is so dangerous in fact, that he is kept in a continuous barbiturate coma, only ever roused for the many tests and extractions performed by the hardly ethical Country Doctors. These also fall prey to the shroud of death that surrounds the beautiful Princess.

Morphine does have a weakness. He is very lonely, and immortality does seem pointless when you have nobody to share it with and kills those you open up to. Luckily for him it appears as though he has found that special someone. The question remains, however, if they have overcome their own love-sickness...
