Not without making way too many changes!

I looked into that, but it requires basically rewriting the entire package...

Thank you for this awesome skin!

I've been looking for something like this for ages.

Thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for! But I can't seem to get the contents to auto-update. I haven't changed the default settings for update or DefaultUpdateDivider but if I add a file to the folder (in windows, not directly into folderview) I have to manually update in order to see the new file. I'm new to Rainmeter so I'm not even sure if I should change this globally or just in this plugin.

Right-click the Folderview skin and select "Refresh skin" to update. It does not automatically see external changes.

just a question. in large folder view, how to add space between folders and files?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eclectic-TechEclectic-Tech In reply to jpc1962 [2023-06-02 11:29:29 +0000 UTC]

First, try adjusting the "Scaler" variable; right-click and select "Edit folder variables". In the  file that opens change the "Scaler=1" value from 1 to up to 4; this will increase the entire skin.

If you only want to adjust the width or height, edit the "LargeIcon.ini" file and change the number values in the [Variables]; 90 is default width/column separation and 100 is the default height/row separation.

[Variables]

Width=((90*#Columns#+1)*#Scaler#)

ContainerH=((100*#Rows#+73)*#Scaler#)

ContainerHOrig=#ContainerH#

DWidth=(#Width#/#Columns#)

DScaler=0.72

You can replace all "LeftMouseDoubleClickAction=' with "LeftMouseUpAction=' but I would not recommend this because it may create unintentional actions.

This is so nice.

I'm using LargeIcons, and changed all the "FollowPath" in LargeIcons.inc to "Open",

making it kind of an alternative to Fences.

Just loved your skin, congratulations.

is it possible to use Icon instead of Folder Title Text?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eclectic-TechEclectic-Tech In reply to Mulmiz [2022-06-24 12:51:04 +0000 UTC]

Yes, almost anything is possible.

But you cannot simply replace the "Titlebar" with an icon without making changes to the way the skin hides/shows the list. That may be a feature I add in the future, but for now you could try to do it.

Another option would be to make an icon skin that activates/deactivates the desired Folderview skin.

Hello ! First, know that i love your skin ! I tried to make one myself but yours look way better x).

And, i tried to do some changes on it. And, yeah i have a lil bit of an issue, and since it's your original work you may be able to help me. The thing is i want to add some customized folders on top but all my attempts failed. It's possible to enlighten me please

The skins can display any folders on your system, just navigate to them then hide the .. (previous folder).

Not sure what you mean by "custom folders"...

Great Skin! I also wanted to ask is there a way to remove the arrows? and remove the whitish border?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eclectic-TechEclectic-Tech In reply to aidan7400 [2022-03-19 03:36:02 +0000 UTC]

I am going to change these skins so nav arrows only appear when the mouse is over the skin. To hide them until that update (or permanently) open the skin in your text editor and scroll towards the bottom of the file to find sections [PageDown], [PageUp], and [PageTop]. Add a line 'Hidden=1' to each of those sections. Save and refresh to remove the arrows.

To change the whitish border, right-click and select 'Edit Style Variables' from the context menu to open the common variables file in your editor. Locate 'BorderColor=100,100,100,100' and change the last number to 1. Save that file and refresh the skin.

Right-click the skin. Select 'Edit Style variables'. Change the value of 'Scale=1.0' to your desired scale. If it is less than 1 you need to enter 0.75

Save that file and refresh the skin.

I tried to add "SortAcending=0", but it did not work.

Is there any other way to Sort folder to Modified first?

Also add little "find colum" would be super. :-)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eclectic-TechEclectic-Tech In reply to MrLolendo [2022-01-08 00:51:28 +0000 UTC]

You misspelled the term: 'SortAscending=1'...

That will work if added to the main Folderview measure [mPath].

The default sort type is 'Modified'. That is set in the [Variables] section by this variable:

SortData=Modified

The other options for SORTDATA are: Created or Accessed

No plans to add to this, what would a 'find column' do?

What version of Rainmeter are you using? Double-clicking the rmskin should automatically install it, if you have "standard" Rainmeter installed. NOTE: If you have Rainmeter installed as "portable", then you need to extract the files manually (rmskin is a compressed file format) and install them wherever your portable Rainmeter\Skins folder is located.

Middle-click the title bar and type the path to your Desktop folder; probably something like: "C:\Users\{yourusername}\Desktop" and press "Enter" to save it.

Eclectic-TechEclectic-Tech In reply to Z0pyrus [2021-02-22 14:23:41 +0000 UTC]

That would require changing the initial position of the menu at the height of the folderview and then modifying the action timer to expand with negative vertical values. It can be done, but is not something I intend to modify at this time. Feel free to make the changes; you can always re-install if you mess up...

Middle-click the title and manually type in the path, then press 'Enter' to set it,

or navigate to the folder using mouse-clicks in the skin. Then 'uncheck', 'Show Previous Folder' in the context (right-click) menu, so you can not accidentally go beyond that location.

Is there any way to "block" the current folder by hiding the parent folder item and possibly the child folder items? Or equivalently, to set a filter so that only files and not folders are listed?

Thank you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eclectic-TechEclectic-Tech In reply to aprin69 [2020-12-22 11:58:25 +0000 UTC]

You can toggle the parent folder using right-click and click 'Show previous folder'.

To only show files, you need to edit the [mPath] section and add a line ShowFolder=0

See: Hide or Show Folders.

Eclectic-TechEclectic-Tech In reply to shrampakatuk [2020-11-23 12:33:41 +0000 UTC]

As designed you need to right-click the folder and click 'open'... to open it in explorer.

To have this the default makes the skin useless since that would disable any navigation.
