Description
This small creature's diet primarily consists of nectar and sweet, honey-tasting fruit of a special plant found in the mangrove biome, although it will also chase tiny fish to eat. For the first feeding method it uses its long tongue, equipped with tiny brush-like protrusions, to lap up the liquid from the flowers. For the fruits and fish, the creature will snap with its gaping jaws and sharp teeth. These are equally at home in the trees as in the water, using adhesive pads on their webbed feet to grip the branches as they wind their way along. Mostly blind, the animal relies almost entirely on echolocation to navigate and communicate with one another (while not particularly gregarious, they do tend to form intense bonds with a small handful of others.) They speak in high clicks, chirps, and squeaks.

They are awake primarily at dawn, dusk, and night, although they greatly enjoy cloudy and rainy days, and are highly water-dependent. When not hunting or swimming, they spend much of their time sheltered away in tree hollows, in little nests of soft fur and vegetation, as well as decorated with a collection of odd objects that they get attached to (such as seashells and pebbles.) It is common for them to steal objects from one another if they take a liking to something they find. These animals look harmless but can be holy terrors when attacked. Their prehensile tails are equipped with little barbs which can electrocute predators while in the water. When in the trees, they will attempt to retreat to their nest but when cornered will bite viciously, having a surprisingly strong grip.(edited)
