After getting around to watching a coloring tutorial, I can honestly say that I'm actually really happy with how this turned out. Obviously there's some additional blending I could have done but I think this was a good first attempt. I'm really enjoying this new way of coloring and there's something about the process that just gives it a little oomph, something more.

I'm going to continue with this method on further projects and see how I can adapt it to my style.
