Anyways, if anyone was wondering how Hollow Dusk came into being in Crystalverse, here's why. Now while Sombra was physically imprisoned in Tartarus, he did manage to use his magic to hide among the shadows and watch the ponies without them knowing. He used this as an opportunity to chip away at Twilight's sanity.

Ever since she lost her brother and sister-in-law to the mad tyrant, it drove her into a deep depression which drove a wedge in her marriage and the relationships with her children and niece, Flurry Heart. Instead of telling her family and friends of his presence, she keep it a secret, letting Sombra drag her further into darkness.
