Toothless - 3D Model head — Description
This was a project I made for the final in my 3D Modeling class. I decided to do a 3D model of Toothless, and given that we only had about three weeks to finish the model, I could only model the head. It took me a lot of work, and it's not the best, there are some obvious mistakes and it is not entirely finished. Even by head standards I know there are some things missing, the frills are a little too long/big, the spikes aren't really sharp enough the list could go on. Please understand that I had only three weeks which isn't enough time to have a perfect model, since I did have other projects to complete as well in the same time frame, so I had to make due.

That being said, I did work extremely hard on it and it actually came out a lot better than I thought. I had to personally get in there and edit every little vertical/edge/polygon around the eye ridges, which took four hours at minimum in itself to complete. The eyes were done with UVmapping and I had painted in photoshop. Sadly I could not quite get a cool texture effect for them But I think they came out pretty good considering, obviously they look nothing like Toothless's actual eyes but I tried The scales I'm really proud of and they are what really brought the whole thing together I used a cellular texture and did all kinds of editing and added layers, it could have been better, but again I was in a time frame.

Now enough with my rant, I hope you guys really enjoy it Sorry it's a creepy floating head. Ignore the background image and water image, I had nothing to do with them, they are just placement images for background. I have also use three different lightings: A dome light, a point light, and directional lighting.

WARNING: I do not own Toothless or the character Toothless or anything the character is involved with. The character design belongs solely to Dreamworks. The 3D model work is mine, however, and should not be reused for anything or taken credit for. All the work was done completely by me, do not steal.
