Imported from China - it was AWFUL. Made out of Christmas tinsel material, super itchy and low quality. But I could tell it would photograph well. So I held it together with hot glue, did some alterations, and we fixed it up in Photoshop. Then we threw it away XD

Hmmm, this sounds like if you want to do it again it'd be better to have the dress custom made by a seamstress.

Well, I could make it. I sew. I make most of my costumes. But I picked this one up because it was cheap and easy and would make for a quick shoot. I don't really have the body type to pull it off convincingly for a convention or anything, and I rarely do those anymore anyway. This was just fine for it's intent - to do a quick and dirty photoshoot with

I'm starting to get that, and I'm always more impressed by models who can design and make or take an interest in what goes on at the other side of the camera than by the ones who just stand there and look pretty.

Still, I think it'd be cool to see a more full photoset with this outfit. 

And shame that you don't do cosplays at conventions.  I'd like to see that myself.  Then again, I mainly don't do it as much as I'd like because of financial blocking.

I used to. That's where I started. I've been cosplaying for 11 years...just not into the convention scene anymore. It's not fun for me anymore and I have lots of other priorities

Shoots with other cosplayers are fun! I don't have many cosplays anymore though - I normally sell them off after I shoot. And I'm (mostly) retired from cosplay. I've got a small handful of stuff I plan to do this year, but this was actually the first thing I've done in 2014! I'm doing a lot more historical re-enactment nowadays. Do you do California conventions at all?

Unfortunately now because of financial restriction.  Even though they are within driving distance.
