Facebook vs. Tumblr — Description
I recently made a Tumblr and started following about 20 of my friends. After about a month, I realized that Tumblr-folk are very, very annoying.

Not only do they abuse memes, make bad jokes, make useless gifs, and think they're super unique for absolutely no reason, but they also hate on a lot of other sites that aren't Tumblr.

One of these sites being Facebook.

For those of you who don't use Tumblr, I am being 100% honest when I say that I see at least three Anti-Facebook reblogs on my dashboard every day (and I'm only following 20 people). It's kind of sickening to see such hate when I've never see any Tumblr hate from my friends on Facebook.

I'm an average Facebook user, so I defend it when I can. But there ARE reasons to dislike Facebook that even I have experienced for myself - so I personally don't care if one dislikes Facebook for certain reasons. However, there's a difference between trying something and not liking it and not liking it because...well, it's popular and you don't have many people to add.

Maybe I'm wrong, but after seeing how a lot of Tumblr-folk feel "unique" and "special" on Tumblr, I've come to the conclusion that a lot are probably feeling very unfulfilled in their real lives that they turn to Tumblr to feel special.

Facebook, while not completely an online version of ever user, at least asks for information such as your REAL name (not a username), your school, where you live, etc. This is because Facebook is more about keeping in contact with people you know in real life and are comfortable giving information such as this to.

I'm guessing that many Tumblr-folk didn't feel very fulfilled on Facebook for two reasons: not enough friends (friends make Facebook more enjoyable), not enough friends with common interests (Tumblr is "common interests palooza")

- There may be other reasons as well, but my friends in particular that I'm following don't have many friends in real life, so I'm sticking with these reasons -

Because of this lack of friends/lack of friends with common interests, they run to Tumblr where it's easy to make friends with common interests. Not only do they make friends, but the feel special, unique, and useful. This wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't so much hate for Facebook from these kinds of Tumblr-folk.

IF YOU USE TUMBLR AND AREN'T LIKE THIS, DON'T CRY TO ME ABOUT IT.
I don't dislike Tumblr, only the people on it. If the hate and stupidity weren't on Tumblr, I would go on more often. But it's something that's literally impossible to escape.
