Description
From the sun or the moon and stars, light is always streaming in from either side of this long hallway. The small, square windows, each cut into quarters by thin, white pieces of wood and surrounded by simply carved, white trimmings, line each of the two walls of the hallway in a neat, straight row. Both outside and inside, small potted plants, like hyacinths, tulips, and bluebells sit on the sills, drinking in the sunlight. Dark green ivy veined in buttery yellow creeps along the walls to nestle around the various portraits and scenic paintings hung between the windows. Some of the redwood-framed artworks tilt just slightly to one side, and many show at least slight wear from their age. Continuing from the entrance hall, the maple floorboards creak lightly under the feet of those treading on them, no rugs covering the barely noticeable stains and scuffs from over the years. The light sand colour of the floor matches beautifully to the pale rose walls, giving the room a distinctly warm feeling. Doorways and a spiraling staircase up ahead beckon for you to keep walking.
