Powerful and charismatic adventurers, who wield(ed) swords connected to ancient, imprisoned entities (Rubilax and Uka'toa), which they draw power from.

Both of these entities are represented on their blades by a single eye on the hilt.

They are both part of adventuring parties alongside their best friends (The Brotherhood of The Tofu and the Mighty Nein).

These adventures would result in a quest to stop an ordinary man who gained immense power in the pursuit of an ultimately selfish goal (Nox wanting to go back in time and save his family, Lucien wanting control of the Somnovum and Cognouza Ward).

The two would eventually enter a romantic relationship with another member of their adventuring group (Evangelyne and Jester).

Both have shown to be somewhat impulsive, doing things without really thinking them through.

Both have mentor figures who are connected to divine entities (Goultard and Caduceus Clay).

They would later draw power from these same divine sources (Percedal being a reincarnation of the Iop God, Fjord becoming a Paladin of the Wildmother).

Both would eventually give up their original swords connected to the imprisoned beings (Percedal burying Rubilax's sword, Fjord throwing the Sword of Fathoms into lava).

This would cause them to lose access to the abilities granted by those beings (Percedal no longer wielding the magic sword, Fjord losing all of his Warlock abilities).

They would later regain these abilities upon retrieving a blade (Percedal retrieving Rubilax's sword and therefore regaining the abilities it granted, Fjord and the Mighty Nein reforging Dwueth'var, the Star Razor, causing the Wildmother to grant Fjord the same abilities Uka'toa had given him in addition to new ones).

They would also eventually die in combat, but would be brought back in some way (Percedal being presumed dead, but in reality his soul had swapped places with Rubilax's, Fjord actually dying in combat but being brought back to life afterwards).

They also contrast in a couple of ways.

Percedal has a fire theme (warm colour scheme, hair looks like fire, etc), while Fjord is themed around water (he's a sailor, a few spells based around water / ice, Uka'toa is deeply connected to the oceans, would later multiclass into an "Oath of the Open Sea" Paladin).

While Percedal would eventually regain Rubilax's sword, with the two becoming friends / allies, Fjord would instead gain Dwueth'var, the Star Razor, and would swear to prevent Uka'toa from breaking free.
