Honestly I feel like the people who have been getting behind this matchup really don't know Revan cause the matchup barely goes into him as a character. For one the connections at first are very barebones which wouldn't be the worst thing. However when you look at them more closely they honestly kinda wrong. For one their memory problems are really not comparable, Cloud's was from a trauma response after seeing his town get destroyed and seeing Zack die, assimilating Zack's accomplishments to protect himself. Meanwhile Revan was effectively brainwashed by the Jedi Council to believe he was a random guy. Sure you could possibly make a contrast between Cloud thinking he was somebody but really a nobody and Revan thinking he was a nobody but in reality was a somebody (Jason Grace does this MUCH better) but it's over all not very comparable.

The rest of the connections are kinda just wrong or just very lack luster. For one they say that Revan only survived due to brain washing which is not true at all, sure the Jedi Council saved him from dying but not with brainwashing. It also claims that Cloud hates Shinra which is super wrong, he multiple times shows he doesn't care about Shinra and is only there fighting them cause of Tifa. The only time he actually is angry with them is when they take Aerith. Trying to say that's comparable to Revan's distaste of the Jedi Council and their systemic problems and failures is just not accurate. Even if all of these connections were accurate it would still leave out a ton relating to these characters, elements that are very important to them. For instance Cloud's trauma, his relationship to Sephiroth and Zack, and his relationship with his friends. And on Revan's side it doesn't go into his role in defeating the Mandalorians, his journey through the dark and light sides of the force as well as his complex view on the force, and his legacy. All of these aspects are very important to the characters and this matchup just ignores them. Honestly this matchup is really only using the Revan from KOTOR which is so limiting giving his huge and interesting history and also makes the fact that everyone uses the Revan with the mask on very funny (that is not AT ALL the Revan from KOTOR).

Zero Vs Cloud I find a very odd pairing cause just in terms of parallels between the series there are fair better options. The connections are fine but honestly are pretty lack luster and very base level. It also tries to work in connections with the Megaman Zero games which is a VERY different Zero than the X Series one. But overall I just think Zack Fair Vs Zero works FAR better. Cause Zero is very much the hero that the main character looks up to and wants to be, which is not Cloud it's Zack. The connections work much better, pretty much every connection Cloud has Zack has but more.
