Truth...or Dare - Prologue — Description
The screaming pain in her wrists and shoulders, the most recent pain and therefore the loudest, was what finally brought the small blonde woman back from the darkness. She slowly forced open eyes heavy with exhaustion, felt the other pains, bastard offspring off the beating she had taken, add their voices to the chorus of agony that was her body. The blonde tried to raise her head and failed, the effort beyond her. All she could do was hang there, wherever there was, and wish for death.

She didn't think she would have long to wait. Despite the flaring agony from her shoulders, the darkness was pulling her back under and she didn't know if she would wake again. Part of her hoped she wouldn't, oblivion would be a welcome release from suffering.

Noises, faint but growing louder, managed to break through the corona of agony that encapsulated her shrinking world. Was there someone here? She opened her mouth, but nothing came out, only a rasp of ragged breath across broken lips. She worked her tongue around inside her mouth, trying to find some moisture to loosen the dry shackles on her voice.

"Pl...please...someone...help me..." The words were bought only with tremendous effort, and were swallowed by the space that she hung in, barely reaching her own ears. She fought to call out again, but the world spun around her and a fresh wave of pain smashed her back into darkness...
