Description
"What...just happened?" Alchemica slowly pushed herself to her feet, coughing as the dust thrown up by the collapsing roof irritated her throat. "Trance?" Alchemica looked around for her partner, and her eyes widened as she caught sight of the wall of tumbled brick and steel behind her that had cut the room in two.
"Stars of Avalon...Trance!!! Trance can you hear me?" Alchemica ran to the debris looking for some sign of her partner. If En-Trance had been caught under there...
"I hear you Blue...stop yelling. I am okay. But...little help?" Alchemica breathed a sigh of relief as her partner's voice broke the silence.
"Hold on T, on my way." Alchemica raised her hand , then swayed slightly as a sudden wave of dizziness caused the room to spin. Alchemica blinked and shook her head to try and clear the sudden bout of vertigo, sighing in relief as the room slowly stopped turning around her. "Must have hit my head when the roof collapsed. Okay Trance...here I come!" Alchemica opened a portal through the rubble barricade and stepped into the other half of the room.
"Whoa..." The sorceress said in alarm as she found herself on the edge of a large ragged hole in the floor. "Trance?" Alchemica peered cautiously over the edge, smiling as she was greeted by the sight of her partner looking annoyed but unhurt gazing back up at her from below.
"Well, don't just stand there gawping at me. Little help?" En-Trance held her hand up.
"Of course, if the lady will just step into the green glowing doorway..." Alchemica gestured as she opened another portal next to her partner. En-Trance stepped through, emerging beside Alchemica and the two embraced in a fierce hug.
"I don't think that was an accident I..." Whatever En-Trance thought would remain unsaid. The sound of a distant agonized scream brought them spinning around. "What the hell was that?"
"I don't know, but let's find out. It sounded like it came from this direction" Alchemica said quietly as she stepped toward a doorway, her raised hands glowing with blue light.
"Right behind you partner. "En-Trance said. If her tone was a little off, a little sly, Alchemica didn't hear it . Another agonized scream held the sorceress' full attention as the two heroines set off in search of the source.
Several minutes later, Alchemica stared down in frustration at the wireless speaker as another agonized scream assaulted her ears.
"Okay, just what the hell is...Hnngghh!!! Mpphhh?!?" A sudden kick to the back of the sorceress' leg sent Alchemica sprawling awkwardly to her knees. A damp cloth pressed tightly against her nose and mouth cut off any protests or spells. Alchemica, immune to drugs, possessed none of the instincts that might have saved her from her fate. The struggling sorceress inhaled normally as she reached for the offending cloth.
"I have a confession to make..." Deception purred as she revealed her true face. "I am not En-Trance..." The Dark Daughter's voice was smug, confident, and she licked her lips as she grabbed one of Alchemica's arms and pinned it easily behind the struggling heroine's head. "And what you are breathing well, that isn't chloroform. Sleep well sorceress."
"Mpphhh...Nmmppphhh!!!" Alchemica's frustrated scream revealed she had reached that conclusion on her own. The sorceress' head spun, and she felt herself growing weaker with every breath. Alchemica clawed desperately at Deception's arm knowing that if she couldn't escape the powerful fumes she was being forced to breathe quickly, she was done for...( Will Alchemica find the breath to cast one last spell, or has the Angel of Avalon become another victim of the Daughter's of Darkness? Has Deception made her mark by defeating Verdant City's most famous protector? )
