Rusty power — Description
This 300 kVa transformer was made by English Electric (this company was taken over by UK-based General Electric Company - GEC) in Australia in 1970 and it has a "dangler" attached to the bottom of the transformer for demand measurement (nowdays, newer demand measurement devices enable remote measurement) we once had near our previous place before the transformer was replaced over 20 years ago.
When I was 10, I had a (scary) dream that a transformer with circular cooling pipes similar to this one was in a maroon coloured van (Toyota YM21 LiteAce) with random combinations of "0" and "1" painted on the front of the van, and I called it the "voltage van" which the Richard Clapton song Capricon Dancer reminds me of; I've seen transportable substations on trucks and in the movie "Allegient", a transformer on a truck.
