Alternatively, you can pause at step 4. copy-past the desired bg without the over lay on top of the layer with the character. While you are on the new bg layer, erase the worg/saber-shape selection, and you will have character-shaped 'window' in the bg through which you can see you character. drag the lineart that came with the official download on top of the new back ground and erase the parts of the bg that overlap into the lineart.
