Description

GOKU VS SAITAMA (DRAGON BALL/ONE PUNCH MAN)

CONNECTIONS:

Their lives revolve around fighting, so much so that they trained to become the strong fighters they've become (Goku throughout his life has spent time training with the strongest masters across the world such as King Kai and Whis, while Saitama followed the very specific training regimen of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10 km run for a year and a half)

Every day, they seek a worthy opponent to push them beyond their limits (Goku's life has revolved around him fighting strong antagonists as early as King Piccolo and Frieza to as recent as Jiren and Broly, while Saitama has sought a villain who can finally tank more than a punch from him, fighting antagonists such as Boros and Garou)

While they share similar goals, both are within opposite spectrums of their placements when it comes to these fights (Goku is always the "challenger", finding opponents who are constantly stronger than him, forcing him to go beyond his limits as a result, while most of Saitama's fights end with him winning with one punch, giving him an identity crisis which ultimately motivates him to finally find someone who can give him the epic fight he desires)

Despite constantly saving their worlds, neither really get the credit they deserve as someone else constantly steals the credit from them (For Goku's case, it's usually Hercule Satan, and for Saitama's case, it's usually a S-Ranked Hero [or Mumen Rider])

Even despite not always being seen in the best light from the public, both continue to seek what they desire, whether it involves saving their own universe or simply seeking the thrill of a fight.

Their movesets are iconic in terms of their respective eras (The Big 4 and Modern Shounen) with some of the most iconic moves and abilities (The Kamehameha and Killer Move: Serious Series, respectively)

Ben, seriously mate, you have a genuinely unhealthy obsession with Twitter matchups.

Whilst i'm still extremely bitter about this option and even more bitter one of my most wanted got cucked for a fucking TWITTER MATCHUP, I realized there are two positives for me regarding it happening.

A) Goku getting his first win on the show (even if I find it a bit cheap and a bit of a middle finger towards Saitama fans) means I won't have to worry about a 0-4 against any of his higher tier opponents, especially Sonic since that MU is OMEGA debatable.

B) This matchup is definitely alot better with Z Goku and even if it doesn't happen, that's alot something I can look towards since it fixes the biggest issue I have with this MU (that being Goku outstats in terms of like....everything, and Saitama has nothing to counter because he's such a brick wall in terms of arsenal)

It's still not a very good MU in all honesty, but whatever, I don't doubt the fight will be good at all.

Rooting and betting Goku
