Life Drawing Graphite Study 1 — Description

Hey, guys! Though it's pretty different from my usual work, I wanted to begin sharing most of my college work, hopefully all of it.
For my freshman year, I am basically relearning the basics of art, both for a bachelors in Communication Arts, but also to open my mind and start fresh; almost like a reset in my artistic understanding.
This is my first official college piece. My professor wanted to see where my peers and I are in our artistic ability, so he assigned us to create a graphite artwork based off direct life observation. He wanted to see how well we can transfer life to paper, and how well we can create diverse values and convincing lighting. I set up 5 objects that I have in my dorm, my favorite being the oil paint on the right. I've very proud of that one.
