His hair was red, and he ran
faster than most dogs.
Independent as an Albatross
with his own personal ocean.
Stronger willed than a lot of people
I've known.

Then a hound and he was red too.
With a nose not unlike that of a
prospector sniffing out gold.
Stubborn and head strong to a point
you wanted to kick him in the butt.
Much like me and that made me look
inside myself.

Came to me after he was killed by
a car, licked my face, smiled then
turned and walked through the kitchen
and out into eternity.

This one is blue, black and kind of silver.
They call his breed a Blue Healer,
however, I have never been fortunate
enough to witness that. Relentless but
not ruthless. A kind soul.

He is my second, actually my
third and become best friends.
Yes, he tries me as did the others.
I have grown a better person from
knowing them.

Now a black one with a white muzzle
and white on her feet. Once she knows
you she is your friend forever. Will try
to love you to death. She is a dog
that needs you! That's okay.

Truly I loved them all heart and soul!
But not as intense as they love or loved me.

Humans don't understand that kind of love.
You have to be a dog to know that!
