Description
A reference pic for another fairly new character - Corwin Bunn, the father of Arline and proprietor of the Bunn Family Bakery.
A formidable hare in his middle-ages, Corwin is not a fellow to be trifled with. As a widower, he is naturally very wary of any male who looks at his daughter in a less-than-respectable manner. After all, Arline is all he has left in this life. So when Danbuster is seen to be taking an interest in Arline, he naturally regards the March Hare with a watchful eye too...
With muscles developed from pounding dough and a stomach developed from sampling the quality goods, he is fully capable of defending the family name - and his daughter - from dishonour, even going as far as teaching her how to defend herself in a tight spot.
However, despite his gruff manner, Corwin might be best compared with a chocolate eclair - a bit crusty, but with a sweet nature.

Yup, he may come across at first as a bit gruff and formidable, but my most fitting simile for him would be like a meringue - crusty on the outside, but soft and sweet in the middle.
While he's justified in that some of the jacks he's beaten off of Arline were indeed after only one thing, he's naturally going to initially regard Danbuster with the same jaundiced eye. Given time though, the March Hare's natural ways strike a positive chord - whether it's rushing to Arline's aid when she gets mugged without respecting anything in return (as in the comic book I'd been working on at home) or recklessly rescuing her from a dragon without regard for his own safety, Danbuster can gradually prove himself a worthy suitor even without realising it.
For all the times the couple tease each other about wanting to do more than just kiss and cuddle (being hares), they are in mutual agreement that marriage should come first. And with the possibility of him marrying into the family business too, Corwin should gain a son, rather than lose his daughter.

Yup, having Corwin for a father-in-law sure would steady Danbuster if ever he and Arline made a go of things. Not that a fellow like Dan would ever do anything dishonouring to someone he cared about!
