Kathi was more than excited to have her little filly get accepted into Futurity. To her,

that equaled winning the great champion title already. To enter such a huge and

meaningful event together with all the adults? The excitement kept her up many nights.

More than ever she begged her parents to drop out of school and be a fulltime equestrian

so she could spend 48 hours of her day at the barn and train with Missy, but of course

that request was met with little approval. There was no way around continuing school

and the additional promise to not let her grades drop. She pouted in her room for an

evening, but all anger about "how unfair it was", was quickly forgotten over pudding her

mom made for her little future equestrian champion.

Joe has never planned to enter futurity in the first place. His stallion, while still young,

was already grown out of the baby stage and had his debut already in the eventing world.

But he has indeed been thinking about getting a young horse again and once he saw a

colt for sale out of those well known horses, he simply couldn't resist. And since entering

the colt at futurity was one of the selling conditions – welp, there he was. And he'd give

his darn best to have the foal live up to it's parents good reputation.
